The Sun Hotel

Stairs, as with all loft rooms on period houses I guess. Nothing can be done about this.

The only thing we were not keen on, was the shower room smelt damp, so we were taking very quick showers.

No parking, no directions to parking ie I called and asked for help and was told they couldn’t help me. I had to find a central car park on my own which was a 10 min walk from the hotel and expensive. The room was up a narrow winding staircase which was hard to negotiate with a case and my hip replacement. I wouldn’t have booked this hotel if I’d have known about these items

Drains smelled unpleasant in the room . Unable to connect onto the WiFi even though we did follow the instructions and request assistance, we did not receive any help.

Bathroom facilities need improvement. First morning no hotwater. Sink blocked and shower dangerous(slippery), water went everywhere.

We didn’t get the room we booked because the water pressure was inadequate and were put up in the eves of the hotel accessed by a steep stairs. On the plus side the room was very comfortable and incredibly warm.

Very old and historic, but uncomfortable and expensive. It was also very noisy late on a Saturday night (the drunken youth of Canterbury!)

The bed was uncomfortable and creaky.

The room was in credibly hot and the superheated bathroom towel rail could not be turned down/off.

The toilet had not been flushed after previous occupant...

TV faulty, Drab tired decor, No dedicated staff for the accommodation, No spare milk for cereals, Broken door handle/lock

Not being able to get out of the accommodation before 9am as the main door was locked.. This must be a safety issue in case you have to leave the premises quickly in case of an emergency.

L'entrée mal indiquée, qui est celle du restaurant, escalier étroit et raide. Côté confort, pas d'eau chaude les deux jours, une lampe de chevet qui ne fonctionne pas, le distributeur savon hors service. Porte d'entrée de la chambre difficile à fermer de l'intérieur, literie peu confortable.
Mais surtout, une propreté limite (mouchoir et ancienne serviette sous le lit) et le bruit perpétuel de la rue en journée comme la nuit, comme si la fenêtre était ouverte en permanence, ou du restaurant en-dessous jusqu'à plus de 22 heures. Si nous revenons, nous irons dans un autre logement.

The room was quite chilly and the heating was not working. However a member of staff did bring to our room a blow heater. Quite noisy at night due to being right in the centre. So if you are looking for a no noise at night I would not recommend this hotel.

Very cold room. Staff member who accompanied me to room initially said he checked the radiator but it didn’t come on and I had to put on a jumper and socks to help me sleep in the cold. No bath mat in the bathroom. No staff around in the early morning to ask for one. Cobwebs above the TV. Shower gel holder broken and fell off the wall.
