The bathroom can be better with some renovation. The cupboard is some cracks. The toilet tissue holder is loose.

The locality of the property was great
The room was very tired. There was no toilet tissue and the bathroom cabinet was peeling. More of student digs really. The kitchen was in need of a real deep clean, the oven in particular, so we didn't use that facility. Thankfully plenty of eateries in the area, so we didn't go short.

Our room was already being used by another guest so we had to find emergency accommodation elsewhere. We booked a double room however were given a single room. When trying to request a refund through booking.com, the owner has stopped answering booking.com calls so we can’t get our money back.
The communal kitchen could do with a clean as there was food in the fridge that was well out of date
It wasn’t easy to find, when we found it, there was nobody there, we phoned several times, but nobody picked up the phone, after a while we tried again, at the end we have to look for another accomodation, so we want our money back !!!!!!!
Location decent, bed comfy.
Not clean or fresh looking, lacked basic facilities like toiletries in bathroom which even after I asked about it nothing was done, coffe cups were stained and didnt look clean. Noisy at night due to bars on high-street. Very overpriced for a basic bedsit and would not recommend it.

There was an awful smell in the bathroom. Had to buy air fresheners to cover it!
The shower door was broken.
Also, the contact phone number is no longer associated with the property when I called for directions. This was concerning.
If I had been on my own, I wouldn't have felt safe there. More secure door locks are needed.
The standard of the accommodation should have been better for £97 per night.

Location perfect for using the local restaurants and bars. We would've spent £60/70 on taxis to come to Newcastle from Cheddleton, it made sense to get a local room. Free local parking was also an attraction to the stay.
The key box and door codes all worked seamlessly. Three flights of stairs, which for us wasn't a problem.
The layout was nice with a modern communal kitchen. We didn't use the kitchen, but it looked like you could live here comfortably.
Our room was modern, decorated to a high standard. Bathroom was practical, compact and bijoux, nice on the eye.
However, there was a bad smell when the toilet was flushed. This made things slightly unpleasant. You didn't want to stay in there too long. Maybe a combination of the drains as well? We spent our stay with the door firmly shut.
If it was happening in my own bathroom, I would definitely be investigating where this smell is coming from. The window was open, airing our room when we arrived, there were air fresheners in the bathroom. Was this to mask the smell?
There were hairs in the plughole of the sink. When brushing my teeth I could see a matted collection in it that the flip plug was covering/hiding. Perhaps a good thorough clean would leave it less unsightly, these things do happen.
Overall, location was great for what we wanted to do. Room and layout modern, practical and good value for money. But the bathroom smell was a problem. It's a shame because would I stay here again based on this experience, no. If I had a different room, or the same room, without the smell, I'd be back. It's as simple as that.
Fantastic property right in the city centre. Excellent host who couldn't have been more helpful, went above and beyond after I left some items in the property. Would definitely recommend.

There was no deadlock or chain on the door. I didn't feel as safe as I could have done, I ended up pushing the cupboard up against the door for peace of mind. Struggled to settle and fall asleep
