Atour Hotel Wushan Road Fuzhou Three Lanes and Seven Alleys

I would like to buy additional breakfast for one day with reception, just to try if I’ll like it. Then the guy in reception tried to sell me more breakfast, I rejected. When he said I can scan him, I thought it’s for payment. However, the QR code redirect me to a membership, and he said if I pay membership, I’ll have breakfast for free. Ironically, the one day breakfast is cheaper than membership. Then he said if I have one year membership, then I don’t need to make reservation with booking. I literally feel fooled from this experience.

Located in residential area so might have some noise especially in CNY period (like 5am or 11pm fire crackers) - however it’s out of the hotel’s control and not severe.

Toilet has weak water pressure, room was dirty. You can see debreeze falling from the sky.

1. During check in at 230pm, we were told to wait while they check if our room was ready, they proceed to photocopy our passports for registration. They proceeded to check in 2 sets of local guests (more straightforward with their Chinese ID card) while we waited, they were also given water bottles after handing them their room cards. It took close to 20 minutes to get our room cards, while they didn’t bother to give us any water bottles.
2. Afterwards, as we were going out, we found the lifts had stopped working and we were stranded on our floor. Thankfully, we found a housekeeping lady and asked about the lift, she directed us to use the service lift at the other end of the building. However, the service lift led us out at the back of the hotel, and we had to walk all the way around to the front of the hotel. When asked about the lift situation, front desk simply they were only made aware and didn’t even bother to apologise. I informed them of my disappointment of their lack of communication and coordination. Front desk later called to apologise and offered a fruit basket for our “inconvenience”.
3. During our four night stay, housekeeping didn’t provide any tea bags.
4. Despite being a non-smoking hotel, there was cigarette smell in the hallway in our floor. We also found guests puffing away in their room with open doors.
5. Despite the Chinese name of the hotel indicates close proximity to 三坊七巷 and 南門兜 subway station, the walk to the subway station was at least 15 minutes, and the iconic 三坊七巷 pedestrian street took up to half an hour! Catching a DiDi to get around Foochow from the hotel is recommended.

Unfortunately, guests will do whatever they please, whether it’s smoking, talking loudly/yelling, or cutting in line. However, hotel staff has the responsibility to ensure that EVERY guest feels comfortable and relaxed while complying to hotel policies.

The toilet is too close to one of the bed
