Easy check-in, easy to find, close to downtown
No parking options, old facilities, cold rooms, noisy neighbors, no wifi
Good location. Cheap price.
Surly staff, small room, barking dog, dog poop outside my door in the morning, broken lampshade, soap stuck to the shower wall from previous guest, worn out mattresses.
After I posted this review they tried to say I never stayed there. I did. See photos.
The location and surrounding is nice, very close to the center. The patio is pretty with all the plants and flowers.
The rooms, we got, were very small and tight. There was no any storage for luggage or clothes (just a small table and one chair). The walls seemed dirty. In the bathroom, the shower and the toilet is in the same space, therefore meanwhile showering the toilet gets full wet... Additionally the shower / toilet "one-space" was stinky.
The location was decent.
I booked two nights at OYO Hotel El Mineral, and my experience was extremely disappointing. Prior to my arrival, I attempted to contact the hotel directly but was instead redirected to a call center, making it difficult to communicate with the actual staff. Upon check-in, I was stunned to find out that I couldn’t pay with my card, even though it was already on file. The receptionist insisted on a bank transfer, stating, “If you don’t do a bank transfer, I will not give you your room.” This policy was baffling, especially since canceling my booking less than four days prior would have resulted in the full amount being charged to my card anyway.
The payment process was unnecessarily complicated and unprofessional, leaving a very negative first impression.
It was overpriced for a modest motel
I want to express my disappointment with the condition of the bathroom door, which appeared to be in danger of falling off its hinges. The room lacked charging electronic devices, and the only source of lighting was a single ceiling lamp controlled by a single switch near the door. The outlets intended for lamps were also missing. In addition, the room was drafty due to numerous gaps around windows and doors, making it uncomfortably cold. I hope these issues can be addressed promptly.
My friends had booked a king room that had a nice little balcony and a fireplace. So if you have to stay here, request the king room.
They don't accept credit cards, so I had to go to a bank (that charges a 200 peso withdraw rate and gave bad rates). The room they originally offered me was so tiny and dark and cold with a window looking into the hallway. The second room didn't have an en suite bathroom. (It was outside the room), and the last one, which I accepted was very dark and freezing, (no heat). No windows except one in the bathroom that looked into a broom closet. The rooms my friends and I had were in a separate building a block from the main hotel.
