Pros:

Room was clean and located close to the entry point to the jungle. Breakfast was simple but good.

Cons:

Owner was pushy already before arrival and then during breakfast about booking a trekking trip through him. Speaking badly about other guides and jungle trekking companies. Was upset that we didn’t book through him, but he does not advertise this on his booking.com account. The settings of the rooms on booking.com is wrong so I was forced to book two rooms - or as written on Booking.com two beds- for two people. This means I payed for an extra room we did not even use. Owner did not offer a refund or reduction of price or even an additional breakfast… Location of the hotel not correct.

Superb
Pros:

Went to Bukit Lawang for jungle track to see jungle and wildlife. Guesthouse located very close to the river but not too close to keep awake at night by all of the music from bars. And wow what an experience! Booked the trip at guesthouse. Awesome nature, and seen much wildlife. Urang utangs, lizards, multiple other monkey species etc. I have booked 3days/2nights track. Basecamps were in the jungle, back to basic but what else would you expect. Sleeping on thin matrass, showering in the river and waterfall. Good food and info provided. Great guides, Arlong and Nang-Nang were nive and enthousiastic. My host at gueshouse Ren did everything to make stay comfortable. Even brought me to nearest atm on his motorbike. All in all good price quality. Can surely recommend this guesthouse to anyone. Restaurant good food and drinks and nice vibe.

Cons:

As all of the accomodations are here in the middle of the jungle, most of these are guesthouses. Don't expect luxury or so.. everything is available but airconditioning and warm water is hard to find at guesthouses anyway in Bukit Lawang anyway. Not that this should be mandatory for travellers coming here, but keep this in mind.. as it is in the jungle, back to basic.
