Super friendly and helpful staff, truly felt like home. Amazing view from the seaside room, right above the beach, very quiet despite cafes below because of the soothing sound of the waves. I regret not staying longer!
Great location nice pool
I had a fantastic stay at Drifters hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were spotless✨️
Nice hotel with a beautiful garden. Peace and quiet atmosphere
Room, garden, view, staff , restaurant ...just everything!
I think it’s better to rent a scooter at the hotel
The location was perfect , staff was incredible and the breakfast was amazing.Sound of the waves and the sunrise were absolutely amazing.
Hotel is Well situated and the staff are so friendly and helpful , make you feel at home, nothing is too much trouble. Food is delicious. This was my first trip to Sri Lanka and my first destination. I booked the hotel car to pick me up from the airport which was excellent . Highly recommend the Drifters hotel for your Hikkaduwa stay.
Incredible hotel to stay in Hikkaduwa. staff were super friendly and welcoming.
room is comfortable, nice AC, and good breakfast options . Cannot be beaten for the price!
The location, pool and pool area, our room with a sea view and a reasonable balcony, breakfast and. the cleaners were good . The breakfast was ok for the price. Buffet style with eggs how you choose.
The front of house and waiter staff are poorly managed. They need training in basic customer care. They rarely smiled or said ‘hi’. They looked bored, disinterested and were mainly on their phones or chatting to each other in groups. The mainly on phones bit probably explains why the restaurant WiFi was so slow at breakfast. It was fine at night as our room was above the restaurant. We tried the restaurant once at lunch when we arrived and the sandwich and salad were poor quality. Never used it again during our six day stay. In complete contrast are the restaurants either side who were friendly and welcoming and served imaginative and high quality food. Baba’s, the family restaurant on the left is particularly good value and friendly. Both the restaurants either side are open until 9-10pm and were quite busy. Drifters restaurant was mostly empty and closed by about 7pm which says it all. The sunbeds on the beach are also poor, with inadequate shading and cushions long past their sell by date. It’s such a pity because with a little effort the beach/ restaurant side of this property could be much more.
The staff are pleasant and very kind. The place has potential (location is absolutely fantastic), but improvements are needed.
I'm puzzled by the high reviews for this place. It is definitely not worth the money. The rooms are small, dark, hot, humid, and in need of renovation. We had to keep a loud fan on throughout our stay, and the power/fuses went off twice in three days. Tip - not all rooms have a/c. Make sure you book one with a/c!!
The swimming pool doesn't feel welcoming.
While there's a kettle in the room, no teas or coffees were provided. We had uninvited guests - cockroach, ants, and a spider (there are holes/vents without any mosquito nets, so everything gets inside.
The beach loungers look tired and outdated.
Although the location is on the beach, every hotel around looks better.
The patio outside the dining area offers a nice view, but our experience was marred by loud Russian rap music from other 11am
-vodka-drinking-guests.
Right at the beach
WiFi is v weak in the rooms
