Unsafe, dark, dank, unclean and after only a short time in the hotel, the punget, nasty smelling air freshener clung to

After requesting a room on a high floor, I was given a room on the first floor. At the end of a long, dark corridor, I was given a room that was accessible by an open doorway to the attached public parking garage. Upon entering the second room I was offered, I found a rumpled bed, and the window (that could not be locked) open to a public walkway. I left the hotel after letting the front desk know I was not comfortable staying at the property and requested a full refund. This hotel is completely misrepresented by the photos on their website. It should not be featured by Bookings.com as a recommended hotel in San Diego. Do not consider staying at the Porto Vista, particularly if you are woman traveling alone.

Cons:

Had plumbing problems and although eventually moved to another room… they were unwilling to even consider refunding the time we had no access to our room, which was after checkin and evening. Then again the next morning till that days check in.

The staff was wonderful and the location was great

Cons:

The curtains did not block out the light at night so it was very bright while sleeping, which made it very difficult to put our son to bed. The pillows were also rock hard

An enjoyable 2 night stay in San Diego
Pros:

Great Location and Comfortable Stay

Great Location and Good Value

I highly recommend Porto Vista Hotel in Little Italy. The location is excellent, close to great restaurants, cafés, the waterfront, and public transportation. It is also a convenient starting point for exploring San Diego and visiting places such as the USS Midway, Balboa Park, and the San Diego Zoo.

The hotel offers good services, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a very nice rooftop area with great views. It is not a luxury hotel, but considering its location, amenities, and overall experience, I found the price to be fair and the value for money very good.

Overall, a great option if you want to stay in the heart of Little Italy and enjoy San Diego without spending too much.

Cons:

I would improve the room decor and furnishings. A more modern and refreshed design would make the room feel more comfortable and welcoming.

Pessoal da recepção muito legal.

Cons:

Chuveiro do banheiro fazia um barulho infernal quando pigava a agua quente.
Um pouco barulhento as noites por conta do bar que fica na cobertura.
Achei estavionamento de 50 dolares por uma noite um pouco caro.

It’s one of the more affordable options in the area, but you get what you paid for. Not great.
Pros:

The location is good and close to a lot of shops and restaurants. The staff were nice.

Cons:

The hotel felt run-down. The floors were so dirty our socks were turning black. There was pee on the wall in the bathroom, mold in the shower, paint and drywall bubbling up, obvious water stains on the ceiling, so on. No soap in the dispensers.

The beds had no comforter or duvet, just a double set of sheets. The headboards were super worn down, not a big deal just added to the dingy vibe.

We asked for 2 extra hand towels and 2 extra body towels 3 days into our 5 day stay (mind you there were 3 of us in the room) … the staff at the front desk gave us 4 “floor mat” towels instead. The hotel looks more like a motel once you get past the lobby.
