Impersonal and not up to previous standard.
Pros:

Liked having a bath available as not many hotels seem to now.
The proximity to the castle and other historical interests was brilliant.

Cons:

I knocked my earring off the bed table, on pulling it away to search, I was horrified at the amount of dust on the skirting boards and on bedside table. Splashes of something on the wall.
I know the staff get little time to turn around a room but this is something that needs to be addressed.
This amount of dust made me question the actual cleanliness of the room. On first impression the room looked clean but it’s sadly wasn’t .
The room starting to look very tired.
It is expensive to stay here and other than the location, it didn’t meet expectations.
Bar closed at 10 pm and our little reading light on the table switched off and removed. I couldn’t see to read.
We were told to vacate to the side room to finish our drinks and if more needed, to order from reception which was downstairs.
We have stayed at this hotel a few times now and we were disappointed.

Excellent location and breakfast but the room didn't offer the value we expected for the price paid
Pros:

We stayed at the Stirling Highland Hotel for one night during our Scotland trip and found it to be a hotel with plenty of character in an excellent location.

One of the things we appreciated most was the history of the building. It was fascinating to stay in a former school that has been beautifully converted into a hotel, and the historic architecture adds plenty of charm.

The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of Stirling's main attractions, shops and restaurants, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. The hotel also offers on-site parking for £10 per day, which we found very convenient.

We decided to add breakfast for £10 per person, and it was excellent value. There was a very good selection, and it was a great way to start the day before continuing our journey.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our room was quite dated and felt in need of refurbishment. The bathroom sink also leaked water, which was disappointing and detracted from our overall experience.

Given the price we paid, we expected a higher standard of room. While we appreciated the hotel's history, location and excellent breakfast, we didn't feel the accommodation offered good value for money in its current condition.

Overall, the Stirling Highland Hotel has many positives, particularly its fascinating history, central location and excellent breakfast. However, the condition of the room meant it didn't quite live up to our expectations. With some refurbishment, we believe it could provide an experience that better reflects the quality of the rest of the hotel.

Fantastic location right in the city centre near the castle. Ideal but needs attention with regards windows or air condi
Pros:

Excellent location in the city centre and very near the famous castle! Beautiful building which was a former school. Historical.

Cons:

The room was too warm, with no air conditioning and no way of opening a window sufficiently. The hotel I understand is not used to hot weather. After all it’s Scotland! It’s designed with thick carpets to keep the warmth .

Goed hotel voor een nacht in Stirling
Pros:

Ruime kamer en op het gelijkvloers. Ligging tussen het kasteel en het centrum. Hondvriendelijk.

Pros:

Breakfast was nice. I enjoyed going for a swim in the morning

Cons:

All pretty good. If I had to mention anything, it would be the lack of sockets near the bed. Not a big issue though.

Overall, really enjoyed the staff and location. Just be prepared for lots of stairs.
Pros:

We enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was halfway between the train station and Stirling Castle. The pool was great. Staff was fantastic.

Cons:

Lots of stairs. We pulled heavy luggage up a very demanding hill from the train station and then we had to do 3 flights of stairs.
