Reception staff is very helpful, cheerful and co-operative in terms of check-in and providing facilities at the Hotel during stay.
Cleanliness at the ground floor rooms specially C1 to C3 is need more concentration for healthy stay of guests.
I had an emergency and had to stay on a couple of extra days last minute, however it was extremely busy due to Cheltenham races, the receptionist was very helpful managed to rejig things around and allowed me to stay in the same room, really appreciative.
I didnt like that the hotel bar shuts at 11 and they wont serve drinks to residents after that time, the new inn is the same hotel chain and if someone's working at the bar they will serve you any time.
Location, courtyard, room, value
I couldn't get the heating to work. Controls seemed very complicated and didn't match the instructions. Name of wifi network didn't exactly match the instructions.
It was convenient for us for going to Kingsholm stadium.
The place is very run down. We had to check in at the bar(no problem with that) but the bar smelled awful, like stale alcohol. The rooms look more like hostel rooms. There was a domestic fridge along with mismatched crockery and cutlery provided.
Loved the mattress however, the bed was a little curved. Had to put mattress on the floor due to bad back.
Also fire door in corridor has squeeky hinges and slams shut which I found disturbing.
Other than those, overall, a good stay.
Thank you
Bed. Too worn. Not the mattress.
The noisy door in the corridor.
Location was very good.
My partner and I arrived on Monday 9th February to celebrate my birthday, excited on arrival from the train station from Birmingham. Unfortunately once we checked in we were extremely disappointed and frankly appalled by the quality of the room we were allocated (room 9) I have attached a photo above for your reference.
As this trip was intended to be my birthday celebration and we had planned to spend much of our time out exploring Gloucester for the day and night we chose not to raise the matter immediately as we did not want to overshadow the occasion. We placed our belongings in the room and left shortly afterwards, making the most of the day and was pleased with the location of the hotel.
Having accepted that we would be out for most of the evening and that the room would simply serve as a place to sleep, we expected at the very least a comfortable night’s rest. Unfortunately, not even that basic expectation was not met. We both woke repeatedly throughout the night due to the extremely poor quality of the mattress. It offered no spring, cushioning, or proper support and was unreasonably hard.
After both feeling extremely restless and exhausted, and now with pain in our lower backs we informed a lady at the service desk the following morning upon returning our key card.
It was now at this point that our jaws dropped to the floor when we found ourselves going on a goose chase by various members of staff via Roomsbooked. We initially spoke with a polite front-of-house assistant; however, she appeared unable to meaningfully address our complaint and advised that she was not authorised to offer a refund or any form of resolution. Instead, she directed me to contact a member of the Roomsbooked team directly.
I telephoned the number provided immediately, only to be told the same -that although they were sorry- no refund or resolution could be offered.
There wasn’t anything to like
Thin duvet, curtains did not meet in the middle, very uncomfortable bed, room in need of decorating.
