The Stage Door Hotel

No greeting on arrival. I rang the bell, the owner looked at me as he opened the door and didn’t so nothing. I said I’ve booked here for the weekend. He called my friend and I into the reception area. Gave me a room key, told me the number but didn’t say where it was located, eg 1st floor on the right. The smell downstairs from the owners cooking (no food service for guests) it lingers. Not a pleasant smell.
The cleanliness was disgusting, carpets and stair carpets need a good professional hoover.
The bedding was filthy in the 1st room we was given. Quilt cover had old stains on them but the pillow cases and bed sheet had fresh stains. Owner did apologise and said the cleaner mustn’t of done it today. He moved us to another room, the quilt cover had old stains, the bed sheet was clean.

No breakfast so for £60 a night is too high

The staff having a personal domestic of their own and shouting, screaming, crying. 2 doors away from my room. The lady was going on crazy and it was horrible to see and hear especially as I stayed with my son. The lady was violent towards her peers and had hot something where blood was dripping on the floor and on the room door. Other staff were not helpful and it was a horrific wake up at 2am. Would definitely not recommend with children as it is not ni e for them to see or hear.

Unclean , people banging doors al night and woman and man arguing on landing kept us awake till early hours of the morning

Unfortunately you’re relying on guests to be considerate however I had noise all night with no on site staff available to raise the issue with. No sleep means I can’t give a higher rating :(

The smell off curry as you walk through the front door and stinks off curry in the bedrooms

When arrived had to call to see how we got in. Guy eventually came to door to let us in gave us our key to our family room.. Went to room with my partner and wee girl, bathroom was disgusting shower cubicle was black wall tiles where mouldy toilet did not flush great handle was ready to fall off. There was 2 towels that you could spit throw. Heating in room never worked had to ask for a heater. Pillows on doble bed there wad one each n they were flat as had to ask for a other 2. Window in room was that dirty could not see out it.. We went out for a while n decided we could not sleep in there and decided to check out and just drive home that night
