Pros:

So well appointed, the Reception area set the tone for a classy place.
The staff, from the Manager down, went out of their way to engage and be friendly.
It was like a family hotel - they made us feel so welcome

Cons:

Rooms were small, but no inconvenience for a one night stay and probably reflected in the price.

Pros:

Very clean and modern in a beautiful house in the heart of Richmond.

Cons:

Our room was very small and spoiled our stay. The advert said small double but barely room for one person.

Pros:

The staff were very attentive. Decor of the hotel and room was nice. The hotel felt luxurious. The radio playing as we entered the room was a nice detail.

Cons:

The smell in the elevator. The bed runner and curtians were heavily stained. Draws were dirty with crumbs and hair.
The front door opens like a normal house door which can be difficult when you have a large amount of luggage with you.

Beautiful hotel, but disappointing management when it came to handling a booking issue.
Pros:

The hotel was overall quite lovely. Great breakfast, beautiful neighborhood, comfortable rooms. My issue was with the booking mishap.

Cons:

I was unable to get anyone to help me with my booking issues. I had travel problems getting to London -- my flight was delayed 2 whole days. The hotel staff initially was willing to assist with a refund, but then they never followed through or reached back out, despite having full conversations about it. They even BOOKED my room and gave it away before I landed. So I technically couldn't check into my room when I arrived, even though I warned and informed them about my flight issues. They gave my room away and I had to wait for another one to get prepared for me when I finally got to the hotel. I lost A LOT of money through this process. And since they double booked my room, they got double the money for it and didn't even refund me. I was very disappointed with this and upset with the way the Selwyn responded to and managed the situation.

Pros:

Superb hotel, well decorated, bed so comfy, very good breakfast. The staff is so polite and friendly. Train station is so close.

The reception and restaurant are lovely.

Cons:

Room 401 was too small. We could barely get dressed in comfort. There was only one hand towel and one bath towel so clearly, the room should only be booked for single occupancy.
