Well worth it!
Pros:

A beautiful surprise, location is so picturesque , the rooms quaint, beautiful and super comfy. Outlooks straight to the water was magic

No TV in room and navigating stairs with luggage a bit challenging

This hotel needs some improvement to justify the price
Pros:

The hotel is in an exceptional location, we’ve stayed here several times over the years but the standard of service has slipped. Still high end prices but tired rooms, restaurant was exceptionally cold and the food average. In the past this was a great place to stay but the standard has definitely dropped. Staff were fantastic so it’s clearly a management problem

Stunning little town on the NC500, with a visit. Friendly staff and great dinner. Would come back again
Pros:

Dinner was amazing, evening pub and restaurant staff were incredible. There were some issues at check in but the staff on duty handled it extremely well.

Cons:

Breakfast could do with some improvements and the music that was played at breakfast was a little extreme for that time in the morning, bed mattress need to be replaced.

Really poor for 2026. Recognise it’s hard to find anywhere in the vicinity, but try very hard!

Good location, excellent food. Very welcoming staff.

Cons:

For the price paid the room and en-suite were extremely dated and worn. Very dusty and crumbs left on bedside table from previous guest.

Cons:

Show.er was erratic. Get the temperature of the water to your liking, start to shower and the water stops. Had to play with controls to get it working. Happened more than once while having a shower

Great location on 500 with excellent views, staff and food.
Pros:

Great atmosphere. Staff friendly and engaging. Bar clearly the ‘local’ for the village. Good food at dinner and breakfast. Great location for 500. Comfy bed.

Cons:

Room was a little small. Bathroom walls marked and possible vomit staining behind sink - not new.

Very nice place to stay along the seashore of a sweet little town in a gorgeous area of Scotland.
Pros:

The location was excellent and all the staff were very nice. Had excellent trout dinner at restaurant. I booked single room facing the back for the price but would consider a bay view room as a nicer option.

Clean, Convenient stop on NC500
Pros:

The location was beautiful overlooking a loch with an island and a convenient stop between Skye and Ullapool that allowed us to backtrack and do Bealach Na Ba Road when the weather improved. They had a nice restaurant and bar. Shannon the desk clerk was delightful although it took a while to get her to the desk to check us in because she was also busy waiting tables in the restaurant. Parking was very convenient.

Cons:

Didn’t like that I had to wait a while for Shannon to come to the desk to check us in but realize now she was busy waiting tables.

Food and staff were excellent. Outstanding location. Parking right outside with amazing views.

Cons:

Draft from closed windows made room cool. Had to leave central heating on constant to keep room warm.

Die Lage ist das einzige, was fantastisch ist.

Cons:

Der Preis ist für das, was man bekommt viel zu hoch. Der Service ? den gibt es eigentlich nicht . Weder beim Check in - "da ist der Schlüssel"... noch beim Frühstück. Wenn man es einplanen kann, weiterfahren und eine andere Unterkunft suchen. Das Hotel ist spooky, absolut in die Jahre gekommen und im Zimmer, welches zwar einen guten Blick auf die Bucht hatte, war es feucht.

Be aware that "mountain view" is to the rear - not wrong, just not the loch view. Rooms were great, staff were better. Great food. No issues here.
