We went out to local attractions so good
Pros:

Breakfast was good location was satifactory

Cons:

Decor in bars and rooms needed refreshing
The fact that if you were out from the morning and needed to get back in you couldn't get back until after 3pm as no body was there to let you let you in

A good value, friendly, nostalgic one night stopover in Beamish.
Pros:

Staff excellent, warm, friendly.. Atmosphere welcoming, warm, homely. Great personable service, good food and helpful travel tips for onward journey. A charming inn with character and good value overall.

Cons:

Beds not very comfy but ok for one night. Water pressure in shower not good but water warm, therefore bearable also for one night.

Dream of staying in a old English Pub, Open Fire, Faultlessly helpful staff, great food - This is it
Pros:

I stayed Fri 9th Jan 2026. If you're like 90% of people reading this right now, it's because you've never stayed here and are wondering if it's the right choice vs something else; I was in your spot, too, and I can unequivocally tell you "book it, and quick too, before someone steals your luck" - Open fire, huge n hearty portions of the all the comfort food you could wish for on a pub menu, super selection of ales/beers etc, and an awesome fry-up breakfast is included too (with tea, coffee, orange juice, jams and cerial also, if you need extra)!
I can't thank Simon and the superb, tireless team enough, working this community pub.
I'd ordered a taxi to take me out on the razzle, but the Beamish was so homely, I returned after only a couple of hours. Waking up to snow outside was pretty special too (that was nature, not The Beamish...they're good, but).
If we don't support such a giving business, it's going to be all our loss, I can't return too soon!
Thank you for such a humbling and fantastic overnight.

Great stay and location and would stay again.
Pros:

Very friendly staff and the locals was only too happy to chat and give advice as we planned to go to the open air museum which was only 1 mile down the road.
Had an evening meal it was great and the portions are pretty large for the price.

Cons:

Only one disappointment the mattress was a little lumpy ready for changing I think.
But you pay for what you get.
And don’t forget your shower gel

Pros:

Staff were friendly, towels , sheets clean, breakfast good ,

Cons:

Shower broken, bath tap out of order, room door damaged, chair was an office desk chair with badly marked seat, other room seat was a stool - also very badly marked, table in room was a dining table in very poor condition..pillows were disgustingly badly marked… room was billed deluxe - was nothing delux about the room… just sell as double..and at very least change pillows!
