Very old building used as a public house. Very friendly and helpful staff, great food.

Cleanliness could have been better but it was used as a base camp.

Convinient location and friendly staff
Pros:

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was basic but ok, sheets were clean but some stains so maybe time to replace them. Outside of inn was a bit shabby. Breakfast was delicious and location great for quick travel to beamush museum via number 8 bus

Cons:

Facilities a bit run down. Disused fridge outside gave it a rough feel. Sheets had stains on them but were clean

Thoroughly enjoyable, being a Inn noise from the bar was expected as it was Friday , used by locals
Pros:

A varied menu, choices to please many tastes, expect to leave the table with a full stomach

Cons:

Some may say the garden, but I took into account the size of the task and look forward to seeing their success with it in the future

Super friendly, great value, excellent food
Pros:

The food come in gigantic portion and is very tasty and well put together. My son said it was the best chicken burger he’d ever had.

Cons:

The soundproofing isn’t brilliant so we could hear a guy doing bad manners and other Ska covers very clearly in our room. However this wasn’t a problem for us (found it funny) but could be for others.

Disappointed!!!!
Pros:

We think overall the staff were friendly and pleasant enough, as were the locals, the breakfast was actually quite nice and the beer and wine were good and reasonably priced. Plus we have stayed in a village called "No Place"

Cons:

The Family room was shabby the coving was coming away from the ceilings there were visible cracks in the walls and poorly decorated, very tired and worn, the beds were extremely uncomfortable you can feel every single spring in your back or whichever side you tried to sleep on, the owner said when questioned that the beds were virtually new and only purchased about 6 months ago, all I can say is that they are of a very very poor quality and perhaps he should try to sleeping on them.
The room is directly above the main bar area so if you get a few vocal locals as we did it can get quite noisy, if you have children this will be a problem.

The first night we ate in the restaurant part of the bar, the Crispy Belly Pork was only crispy as the chef had put that much salt on the fat to make it crispy she couldn't eat it, I had bangers and mash as the last pie had just been sold, I dodged a bullet there as the lady on the opposite table had it, she couldn't stick a fork through the crust as it was rock hard and the meat was very chewy, her words not mine, I don't think she paid for it as we didn't pay for the Crispy Belly Pork either.

It's a real shame as this could be a real gem but without a good refurbishment from top to bottom which obviously will require a substantial cash injection, it will remain just run of the mill.

We certainly wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend anybody to either.
