Segunda vez e nunca decepciona!
Pros:

O pequeno-almoço é sempre uma delícia, a propriedade é mágica e a Dona Maria é sempre MUITO hospitaleira. Voltarei sempre que puder e recomendarei sempre á todos o quando é maravilhoso ficar nesse hotel rural.

Cons:

Tudo foi ótimo como sempre, o nosso quarto desta vez era um pouco diferente do outro. Tinha uma varandinha que foi ótima, mas ela precisava um pouco de manutenção.

Die Lage ist sehr schön und bietet einte tolle Aussicht.

Cons:

Abgewohnte Zimmereinrichtung, defekte Schränke, defekte Vorhänge, am Abreisetag gab es kein Wasser mehr im Badezimmer. Ausser einer Entschuldigung wurde keine Alternative angeboten. Also ohne Körperpflege ausgecheckt.
Das angebotene Menue am Anreisetag war kein serviertes Menue im klassischen Sinne, sondern ein Abendessen in Buffetform. Aus diesem Grunde auch die möglichen Speisenzeiten von 19.00 Uhr, 1930 Uhr und 20.00 Uhr. Fernseher funktionierte nicht (nur getestet), W-LAN funktionierte nicht.

Beautiful property with wonderful views
Pros:

Loved my stay at this rural hotel/vineyard. The horses were nice to go visit and there are tons of.places on the property to sit and relax, read a book, take in the views.

Cons:

Lack of hot water in the room - it was lukewarm at best.

Casa dos Viscondes da Varzea with its large working vineyard, is both delightful and relaxing.
Pros:

It’s close to Lamego so not right in the Douro River Valley, but the working vineyard grounds and the buildings are beautiful and peaceful. The gracious main building is from the late 19th century and has a wonderful array of social spaces on the entry level, densely, authentically, and eccentrically decorated. Not recommended for minimalists! We were there in late March so not as busy as it would probably be in high season, but it could no doubt accommodate a crowd comfortably.

Having to leave after only three nights so not having a full day to enjoy the property - and the pool!

Le cadre exceptionnel,l’accueil excellent, petit déjeuner correct.le repas du soir très bon aussi table biem decore petit feu de cheminée ,salon très intime on sentais presque chez soi .

Les chambres !!! surtout les lits,très mauvais matelas la fenêtre ne s’ouvre pas ,salle de bains non aproprie e des rallonges qui traînent un peu partout.

A country estate for your relaxing pleasure.
Pros:

This is a bit like staying at your family's place... if your family were aristocrats with vineyards in the Douro Valley! Lavish furnishings, opulent decor, a formal dining room for dinner and breakfast with excellent food. Cocktails on the porch of the reception hall... water from the fountain in the main drive before hiking... it was painful leaving. We were there a bit off-season, so it practically felt like our place. With staff.
