Nothing to not like
Stay elsewhere in Lecce. The property is beautiful, however that's it. Don't waste your money with breakfast, food is old, not refilled and the same boring basic food each day.
Not a four star hotel. In our room with four people only two towels were left. We had an issue whereby the hotel was informed about a gluten intolerance months in advance, disappointingly the breakfast lady said she was not informed at all, however front desk said she was. The breakfast available was dismal, however full payment for three days were made. When we discussed this with the front desk, we were informed to send an email so they could get better! Not what you want or expect from a 4 star hotel!

The service is exceptional, from reception to dining! The rooms are very beautiful and unique with the tall cathedral like ceilings, everything you could need and really lovely ammenities! The entire place is is elegant and lovely, fun to explore. We had lunch at the restaurant and it is was divine!
The only drawback is the distance from the old town, a cab is 15euro each way. Since it is off season there is no shuttle. However the hotel kindly arranged the cabs for us so made it very easy and we only had one day so one trip into Lecce. Absolutely worth the distance to stay in this masterpiece of a property filled with so much history!
I arrived at this hotel at 2am after my husband was rushed into Lecce hospital and stayed in intensive care. I am not a religious person, but straight away, the tranquility and calm of this beautiful ancient building eased my mind. Unlike ordinary hotels, it gave me space, peace and comfort at one of the worst of times. The building is stunning and immediately lifts your spirits, but the staff, in particular three individuals, were exceptional. I will not forget the kindness of Anna on main reception who was like an old friend, ensuring that I had taxis waiting each evening at the end of visiting time, and helping with any other request, no matter how small, that I had during my stay, and showing real, genuine concern, above and beyond her role at the hotel. In addition, I need to mention Alessandio and Illaria who made my breakfast and dinner far less lonely. They were just amazing. Usually when you eat at a hotel on your own you feel isolated and excluded, but they felt like genuine friends each evening and I really can't thank them enough for their incredible kindness. The food was amazing at Gimmi's restaurant and I really found comfort in such little things at such an uncertain time. I even made friends with a couple of other guests due to the lovely layout and ambience of the place. My husband has just come out of hospital (and will need further medical care once back in the UK), we are still in Lecce and would have been back at this wonderful place had they not been fully booked until 28 October. A hotel tends to be faceless, a place where you simply go and rest up for a day or two, but it is important for staff to look beyond the booking. Guests come for all sorts of reasons and occasionally need a little more than perfunctory processing. I needed looking after at a time of great need, and I can't thank Anna, Alessanio and Illaria enough for their kindness.

Onze tweede bezoek van een week in deze oase van rust in het warme Zuid Italië. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en heel hulpvaardig. Het ontbijtbuffet en de poolservice zijn tot in de puntjes verzorgd, en de kamer is zeer ruim en koel, ondanks de hitte buiten. Het hotel biedt niet langer de shuttle naar het centrum aan, maar voorziet wel een taxi in de plaats. Nieuw dit jaar is de mogelijkheid tot bijboeken van verschillende activiteiten in het Chiostro, zowel de massages als de yoga by the pool bevielen ons enorm. We komen zeker terug!
We valued this facility as an outstanding! Very friendly staff! Dining hall was elegant with exceptionally good service and very good food with reasonable price. If we come back again to Lecce, we will stay for several days! We consider this facility much better than Napoli Renaissance hotel!

Everything from the staff at reception to the staff everywhere is the hotel, the food, the history of the building was exceptional. Highly recommend.
It was a 15 min cycle / half an hour walk from the centre of Lecca which was a challenge in the rain!
