Very good
Pros:

Very good instructions on how to get there, how to get in, where breakfast was available, checkin digital and easy. Very special place, felt like going back in time. In low season so from restaurants but we got great advice and had a great dinner in nearby town.

Unique dwelling with templar cloister and chapel in the middle of nowhere.
Pros:

Incredible building full of historical interest. The chapel id beautiful.

Cons:

On the morning of our visit (early at around 7:30am) the gardeners were working with their leaf-blowers and woke us up with their terrible din outside our bedroom window. No one else around and we were the only guests. Seemed a bit inconsiderate and unnecessary.

Unique in a good way!
Pros:

An oasis in a truly unspoilt area of rural Spain with the vast steppes of La Serena on one side and the Sierra de Tiros mountains on the other. The refuge is historic with bags of character and the rooms are almost cloister-like set around a small courtyard with an orange tree in the centre and reached by stone steps. Tamara could not have been more helpful and you're given a phone number to ring for an access code that you key in to let yourself in - all this went smoothly. The room was cosy, clean and the bed very comfortable, the shower functional. Tamara kindly opened the kitchen in the adjacent restaurant to cook just for my wife and I - a tasty and hearty pork steak with fries. Breakfast was a self-service buffet with croissants, toast, ham, cheese, jam etc with coffee or tea, simple but plenty of it. The refuge is next to an old and historic church and surrounded by mature trees. It was tranquil and lovely when we were there. In minutes, you can then lose yourself in La Serena, perfect for those who love the outdoors and big landscapes. I hope to visit the area again and will happily use this as a base.

Cons:

Nothing
