Pros:

Lovely restored old pub. A lot of charm and character. It was very clean and comfortable, we had a family room and the beds were very comfortable. It was terrific to sit outside on the balcony in the evening. The meals were delicious and well priced. Loved it, absolutely recommend staying there.

Pros:

We had a standard bedroom which was a bit squishy. However, the bed was comfortable, and the shed bathroom was absolutely effortless.

Wonderful historic building with a wonderful revival story. Highly recommended!
Pros:

Wonderful historic building with a wonderful revival story. We enjoyed the bar, the pool table, the restaurant and the accommodation itself. The room was well insulated sound-wise from the punters downstairs despite being a Saturday night. Its proximity to the majestic balcony was appreciated. The staff on hand were friendly and informative. The Royal is amazing as a base for exploring Lake Tyrrell and then heading out in the morning.

Cons:

Only really minor things. Because we were a 4 person family in a single-room family room and the facilities were communal, getting changed involved some logistics. Also, the floorboards were creaky which was fine during the day, but could wake light sleepers if someone needed the toilet at night.
