Great potential, enthusiastic owners (French) but disappointing execution!
Pros:

Quiet courtyard design

Cons:

Food expectations were high but reality was disappointing with some dishes not available. Our room was pleasant but we had no hot water.

We stayed here on our last evening, the property is beautiful with an inviting swimming pool and 3 comfortable sunbeds.

Christophe a réussi à créer un petit bout de France au Sri Lanka. La maison colombo est un havre de paix dans cette ville bruyante de colombo !
La carte du restaurant est un hommage à la France (foie gras, coq au vin, bœuf bourguignon...)
La maison Colombo restera un très bon souvenir pour nous et nous vous conseillons d'y passer

Wonderful French hotel in the heart of.Colombo
Pros:

A lovely place beautifully furnished with excellent helpful staff. Relaxed and quiet despite being in the centre of town. A great breakfast, soft towels, a big comfortable bed, lovely toiletries, super restaurant and a welcoming ambience.

Beautiful hotel with friendly and attentive staff.
Pros:

The staff were friendly and very accommodating - letting us use the pool after the stated closing time and serving breakfast earlier so we could eat before leaving for our flight. The room was so spacious and comfortable, the hotel is beautiful, and the food was great. It’s surprisingly quiet and feels secluded despite being quite central in Colombo, although it’s still a bit out of the way so you’ll need to get a taxi into the centre.

Cons:

The only downside was the shower as the water pressure was very poor and the water turned scalding hot every few minutes.

La prima notte nello splendido Sri Lanka

Il nostro primo giorno in Sri Lanka ci regala questa perla a Colombo. Non centralissima ma anche per questo lontana dal trambusto della capitale, questa struttura è veramente un gioiellino nel verde, con una piscina mozzafiato e bellissime stanze. Abbiamo anche cenato ottimamente.

Cons:

Piccola osservazione: ho trovato la colazione un pò troppo scarna, ed è un peccato perchè tutto il resto è di livello assoluto.

Good place to relax away from crowds. Nice change after travelling around Sri Lanka.
Pros:

Friendly and helpful staff, size of the room and bathroom, colonial style architecture, great breakfast, small size of the property without crowds, quietness, French feel of the "Maison". A little away from the center of Colombo but it did not bother us.

Cons:

We liked everything about the property. Nothing to complain about.
