Fantastic 2 night stay - Will Return

The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food at the restaurant. The pub was great, cozy, clean, and fun. We ate 2 dinners at the restaurant and both were fantastic. The rooms were nice, comfortable, and clean. Mark, the owner, and his crew were nothing but friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Mark made several suggestions for our visit to the area, and his recommendations did not disappoint. Breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. We had an early morning departure to the airport on our last day and Mark got up early and made coffee and toast for us before we got on the road. I would HIGHLY recommend the LION for your next stay in the Cotswalds. Excellence all around! Thank you, Mark. We will return.

Pros:

Absolutely loved staying here and only wished we had stayed for longer. It was beautifully clean, the atmosphere was lovely and both evening meal and breakfast were perfect.
I would definitely recommend this wonderful place and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Perfect pub to stay, drink & eat in
Pros:

The owner, Mark, is a fantastic host! From the moment we stepped into the pub, we were made to feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble! We were there New Year’s Day for two nights. The pub was closed New Year’s Day evening, so no food. But they made a us a nice sandwich which we ate in our room. The room was toasty warm, bed exceptionally comfy, lovely shower - everything was perfect!
The food was amazing too!
I would thoroughly recommend The Lion & hope to return soon.
