The condition of the bedroom was very poor and unacceptable. The carpet was soaking wet, causing socks to become wet when walking on it, and the room was extremely cold.

The bedding and blankets appeared very dirty, with visible stains and hairs, and they did not look like they had been washed or changed for a long time. The smell from the bedding was also very unpleasant and difficult to tolerate.

When I raised these concerns with the owner, the response was that “it won’t affect your sleep”, along with excuses rather than any attempt to resolve the issues.

Overall, the cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort standards were very disappointing, and the concerns raised were not taken seriously.

The host was welcoming.

Cons:

The room was tiny. The bin was full of rubbish. There was no desk or chair as had been advertised. There were no towels and the toiletries were left over bottles left in the bathroom.
The bed had broken springs. There was no heating.
There were no coffee/ tea making facilities. There was no kitchen available as had been specified in the list of facilities.
The smoke alarm was covered in a plastic wrapping.

Find somewhere else!
Pros:

Nothing. I walked in then walked straight back out again and drove home. I thought I had walked into a homeless hostel. No lock on the door, bed looked like it had not been changed. The house smelt and it's other occupants Were of very dubious appearance. I doubt I would have slept and I certainly would not have risked using the facilities. Money wasted!
