Great location and beautiful views, albeit the building needs upgrading
Pros:

Location is great for Gatwick but still very much in the country. Beautiful views and friendly staff

Cons:

There was repair work ongoing which was not made clear in advance
Car parking is charged at £10 per night which is storage for a country house with a huge car park.
No air conditioning!

A once grand country house, very conveniently located close to Gatwick, but lacking in detail and a bit overpriced. I am
Pros:

First impressions were grand but the conversion from stately home to hotel is awkward, but there are new owners and hopefully they can make some improvements.

The room was comfortable and spacious but it was too hot.

The new owner was pleasant but the other staff seemed inexperienced and distracted. My other comments are in the next section.

I rate it highly for location but the rest is overpriced.

Cons:

in many ways this felt like quite an amateur operation without the attention to detail or service that I was expecting.
The room was too hot, there was no aircon, just a cheap chinese fan and the quilt was winterweight so we had an uncomfortable night.

The bar was very strange, in an interior windowless room fitted out in rough timber and stone like a Swiss Ski lodge but without the skis.

The main restaurant menu was only average including several curry options more suited to a pub, but the food itself dissapointing in size and flavour while the staff seemed distracted and uncoordinated missing items and bringing water to some customers and not others.

I was particularly surprised to be charged £10 per night to park in a large gravel carpark, as they have ample land and parking is not in any way scarce. On top of everything else this is a very mean surcharge.

So I rate it highly for location but the rest is overpriced. I hope the new owners have the experience and insight to lift the standards

Good apart from noise of wedding disco and unable to access terrace
Pros:

Location friendly staff

Cons:

Wedding on and we could not access the terrace for drinks and it was a lovely evening. We were told outside was only for the wedding guests.

Disappointing
Pros:

Room was spacious and well decorated but no fan or air conditioning. Dinner was excellent and well, priced. Special mention for staff member Eris who gave excellent service

Cons:

It took 20 minutes to check in and 15 minutes to check out with one member of staff on duty each time. The mandatory £50 deposit had to be explained to everyone including the fact that if it was paid by contactless card it would take 12 days for a refund to be issued. How can they justify that? More staff are needed at peak check in and check out times.

Matched above our needs
Pros:

Food was amazing, staff were polite. The hotel and the grounds were kept to a high standard.

Cons:

When originally booked the parking was priced at £5 per night if your car was left whilst you went on your holiday on the booking.com advert. This was not the case. I was told on a phone call it was now £8 per night. Then the week we were due to stay it had gone up to £10. Luckily I had agreed to the £8. On arrival I was informed that was not the case and the £10 would stand. I had to find the agreement of £8 per night to prove my case. Staff member had to back down from charging me £10. When the bill was then added up it did not match my figures and i was £20 over charged which worked out the £20 that was deducted from parking. At one point I was going to get a penny and paper to work out the bill and show the correct price. Lucky for me another staff member had over heard what was going on and stepped in and agree with me. Overall a excellent hotel.

Would definitely stay again. Lovely hotel.
Pros:

Beautiful looking property, lovely gardens, nice choice of rooms. We had a superior room with aircon (essential in a heatwave!). Lots of parking, sunny terrace, staff all very friendly and professional. Breakfast and evening dinner were both excellent!

Cons:

Cleaning equipment and room replenishment supplies left piled up in corridors. Just build some cupboards!! Room 219 has a tiny window and is very dark.

Convenient, well priced and friendly
Pros:

Beautiful Suite— incredible room, we stayed only one night as we were flying the next day, however you would never think you were that close to the airport with those surrounding views.

Cons:

Nothing
