Where it was located. Easy to get on A419. The staff were accommodating and friendly. I stated 4 nights and all my requests were dealt with quickly and professionally.
Car park was full on arrival. And travelling on my own it was difficult to drop bags and then park. There was no concierge to help with bags. So I had to just leave them in the lobby while I hunted for a carpark space.
The rooms are not soundproofed. And the bathroom could do with an upgrade. But there was plenty of hot water and the rooms were serviced daily.
Thanks to a very helpful and charming receptionist I was given a room very close to the dining room where we held our dinner engagement. I have a serious breathing problem and this gesture made my life so much easier
The room (204) was exceptionally clean and tidy with useful facilities. Our dinner had been pre-arranged and was served by a very capable and friendly staff. As always the buffet breakfast was fine.
There is nothing specific that I wish to criticise.
From my point of view this was a wholly satisfactory stay.
In terms of value for money, I was disappointed to see that your rates have increased since last year
Beautiful lake with a lovely walk. We paid for an upgrade on arrival and it was 100% worth it with the view. Breakfast was also absolutely amazing.
Swimming pool should be free of charge for the residents at the hotel. Also, kids should not be charged same as an adult.
The rooms are in a need of renovation, specially the bathrooms. Otherwise the hotel is excellent and the staff is very attentive and helpful
Setting
Cleanliness, service had a bottle of wine no ice buvket, big long hair in glass booked a table and couldn’t sit at it so wobbly then had dessert spoon all in the sauce and very dirty at the main entrance and down the corridor to our room and bathroom very dated have stayed at over places for half the price very disappointed as it was our 49th wedding anniversary
Great location
Very busy and staff not that friendly
The view was lovely
Our lights in the bedroom was not working and the toilet was dirty
comfortable room with brilliant view of the lake
not having coffee shop facility on site
spectacular lake views , staff was friendly and check n check out was quick
the water tap in washing basin was oversplashing and shower gel bottles squueze top was not working and it would be better if they provide a bottle of water along with the compliment tea tray
Amazing location & lovely decor
Room walls are very thin, could hear the room next us TV, shower & draws opening & closing so had a later evening & early morning than we would have liked.
The reception staff were fantastic..
Not enough bar staff on duty to cope with the amount of people.
Very helpful staff and lovely views
Dined at the Boathouse which was excellent
Breakfast was basic and limited
The room was cold we had to ask for a heater which was brought quickly.
TV has very limited channels
The locations and setting by the lake were good.
Rooms were old, tired and tatty. Bathrooms were especially dated.
I could hear the toilets flush of every room above and beside mine .
Room and location fine
Food and staff in the restaurant absolute joke wouldn’t stay again - it used to be a great place
