Very bad staff with very bad bahaviour

Unfortunately they are the most unempathetic, unsympathetic hospitality service we have come across by far. We booked our stay for 4 nights, by the 2nd day we had the worst news possible of a death in the family and had to start making arrangements of heading back home to deal with this family tragedy.

We asked for a partial refund just for the 2 remaining days as it only seems fair because we spent the first two there already. We provided detailed information regarding our circumstance and if they need any additional information.

They replied as request declined without even acknowledging our loss or providing any condolences. That is the part that really hurt, not so much the partial refund request, because funds come and go but to not even acknowledge our loss in this beautiful holy city was truly crushing.

They have a long way to go and need serious customer service training from top to bottom.

We had other family members staying in Makkah at the Kiswa Towers 1 and at the Hilton and they provided full refunds to them, moreover their response regarding our loss was extremely genuine and empathetic.

We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone but if you do book here, then do so with a refundable option, we pray no one else ever has to experience what we did.

Good hotel for a reasonable price
Pros:

The hotel is at excellent location close to Masjid (near ladies entrance).
Rooms were clean but smaller than expected.
Staff were friendly all times.
It's good value for money though as it was the cheapest option for a hotel that close to the Masjid.
Breakfast was included in our booking but there could've been more options to accommodate for different tastes.

Cons:

There were only 4 lifts for all floors and of small size (fits 5-6 adults) which were inconvenient to get in and out especially during prayer times. That is not necessarily an issue in this hotel as it seems common for hotels in Madinah.

Two nights at Emaar Elite
Pros:

The room was clean. The check-in and check-out was very fast.

Cons:

The breafast variety was very limited. The QR code for room service did not work. I was routed instead to an ad. It was quite far from gate 327 i.e. entrance for women to the mosque unless one was fine praying outside the mosque.
