Nice local hotel for a stay to explore historic landmarks of Istanbul.
Pros:

I have stayed in Hotel Gulsoy for a week with my elderly parents and brother in two room. It is a very good local hotel, with super friendly staff and comfortable spacious rooms. Pool and sauna were very a great add on for our trip, which we used daily to end our busy days with relaxation after exploring landmarks of Istanbul. Our room had a very beautiful view on the mosque.

Cons:

My only concern was the quality of breakfast, baking and juices in particular could definitely be improved.

Pros:

The location is convenient, not far from the historic city center, with bus, tram, and metro stops within walking distance. The breakfasts were delicious. The room was cleaned daily. The staff were responsive and attended to requests immediately. Excellent value for money.

Below the expectations
Pros:

We booked a room with a double bed and received confirmation by email, but upon arrival we were given a room with three separate beds. We were promised to be moved the next day. The first room looked quite worn and had a noticeable cigarette smell, which was unpleasant. The next day we were moved to another room, which was good and without the smell.
Breakfast was also disappointing – the choice of food was very limited, almost no meat options, and the only thing we ended up eating was omelette which was good. The coffee was not good, and there was not even Turkish tea available, only cheap tea bags.
We chose this hotel because of its overall rating of 8.9, but based on our experience it clearly does not match that rating.
