Rustic Seclusion to Escape the Masses
Pros:

I loved the size of the rooms, the wifi speed, the rustic design and most importantly, the location. Nghê Riverside Villa was the only reason I enjoyed my stay in Hoi An as it kept me tucked away from the tourist nightmare that is essentially Hoi An. Located at the far edge of Cam Nam island created a nice buffer from the throngs of tourists chasing photos of coloured lanterns and getting their suits made. However, Hoi An Old Town is only a 15-minute walk should you dare to venture that way. The neighbourhood had everything I wanted and the uninhabited development across the river meant there was plenty of privacy. Ken's Kitchen down the road became my everyday eatery. Being by the river meant a lot of insects though so make sure to pack repellant. I initially had to move villas because two families wanted to be close together but this frustration subsided when I realised I had a more suitable furniture layout. The property was very quick to respond to my queries and requests when I was informed about the room change which was a huge help.

Cons:

The initial inconvenience of having to move after the first day as I had a lot of work on. It seems I have to constantly accommodate other people's preferences on Booking.com. There were also these cyclic noises coming from the big water tanker on the roof.

Spacious villa with plenty of amenities.

Cons:

The door into the bathroom was broken;
We have ordered a taxi at 6am to the airport via the hotel, but it didn’t arrive. In the end, hotel did apologize and offered a discount - but keep in mind if you are in a hurry.
