We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Kumari met een lekkere fruitsmoothie. Onze kamer is groot en koel door de nieuwe, geruisloze airconditioning. Er werd direct een waterkoker en een koelkast voor ons geregeld. Alles is schoon. Grote, sfeervolle badkamer met goede douchekop (harde waterstraal en warm!) (er brandde een kaarsje bij aankomst).
Het Guesthouse ligt iets van de weg af, waardoor je weinig/geen last hebt van het verkeer. Af en toe hoor je een trein, maar dat hindert ook niet. Het is hier heerlijk rustig, groot, nieuw zwembad omringd door palmbomen en natuur. Er staan 4 ligbedjes met ligkussen.
Als je de weg oversteekt loop je een strandje op, prachtige zonsondergang.
Er wordt zowel ontbijt, lunch als diner geserveerd. Alles heerlijk van smaak, vers en een goede prijs.
We zouden 2 nachten blijven, maar hebben er 1 bijgeboekt.

Het bed kraakt nogal en als de één zich omdraait, ligt de ander te wiebelen. Rustig ondraaien dus.

We extend our stay here!! Really quiet place. Surrounded by nature. The rooms are big and clean, the same for swimming pool.
We always ate at the property and we enjoyed that very much.

Not near to big town but Near to the beach and locals house.

The breakfast ist delicious, healthy and generous.
The hotel is on a very quiet place with a lot of vegetation around, very pleasant. The rooms are spacious, very high value for the price. The owners are very kind and helpful. The food is very good as well with reasonable prices.
Everything is perfect!
Our experience was wonderful at this family hotel. They made us feel at home, were super attentive, Chamod is a 10 uncle, helped us in many things and got us everything we asked for nothing in return something not so usual. The mother cooks very well, she prepared us a delicious breakfast. The room was clean and cozy. A 10 for family and place, very recommendable.
Lovely guesthouse run by a nice family. We particularly enjoyed the home cooked rice and curry we had for dinner, one of the best we had during our three weeks in Sri Lanka - and the friendly dogs!

YOU MUST STAY HERE...The family that own this homestay couldn't have been more welcoming from the start to the end of our stay. Upon arrival we were handed a cold refreshing drink while the rottweiler introduced himself. Ive been travelling 6 weeks in Asia now and quite frankly this gentle giant made me feel at home very quickly. The daughter helping with my travelling plug issue and connecting me to WiFi, she was simply keen to please in any way. The family's English was amazing and probably the best ive experienced in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious with a huge bowl of fruit followed by eggs,tomatoes and some thick tiger bread with butter and jam. Jug of coffee much welcomed. If I needed something I felt like it was never too much trouble. Location is so close to the beach but feels like the jungle from my room balcony. Within 5min walking distance you have a pub with roof top ideal for watching sunsets called Beauty Coral Bar. A restaurant within the homestay so you dont even need to leave to get food. Another restaurant 5mins up the road called Simple Restaurant if you fancy a change. Clean spacious rooms with good air con,ceiling fan and I love the shower and toilet also very clean and spacious. The whole place from the restaurant to my room,the family and Location I LOVED IT SO much I had to stay another night. So from England Kent to Sunnys Homestay I send you my thanks and my love for everything you did for me.
Honestly, I can't think of anything I would change about this stay. Having stayed at 3 hotels along this stretch of Sri Lanka some costing a lot more, this one has to be the best for me
Location is great. A bus ride away in either direction to busier areas, local cultural activities, shops, cafes etc.
Breakfast was perfect, choice between local or western.
Staff were friendly, welcoming and approachable.
Food in the evening was superb.
Use of bicycles maybe?
