Historic old hotel
Pros:

Historic old hotel, very interesting vibe if you are looking for something that is not a chain hotel. Great that they have many western options for food at their restaurant as well, so you can have plenty of choice.

Cons:

Because it is old, some facilities are old as well and may not be working too well, such as the water boiler. Overall, everything was manageable.

Pros:

Wonderful hotel in the city center. Very clean, with extremely kind and impeccable staff — all true professionals. A lovely surprise was the beautiful and delicious birthday cake from the hotel staff upon my arrival, which made my stay even more special. The cocktails were excellent, and the restaurant’s food was also very tasty. I highly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Perfect place to immerse yourself in Kolkata
Pros:

A glimpse into the past ;wicker chairs, overhead fans, old photos, G&T’s and exceptional staff. It’s an oasis amongst the colour and chaos outside the gates.
The rooms are large and comfortable and perhaps the showers reflect their age a bit! This place is not about fluffy towels and the in-room dining menu. Their restaurant in the ‘Imperial room’ is fantastic and extremely reasonable.
It’s central, has a metro stop nearby and if you are adventurous walk to Mother Teresa’s Missionary and the spice market in Burra Bazaar.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön, mit einem sehr schönen Flair aus alten Zeiten. Das Personal war extrem freundlich und aufmerksam. Lage sehr gut, alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten entweder mit Taxi oder zu Fuß gut zu erreichen.

Cons:

Inzwischen sehr in die Jahre gekommen, etwas abgewohnt.
Frühstück schlechter als noch vor 3 Jahren, der Raum wurde geändert und leider nur noch Selbstbedienung, keine Silberkännchen mehr für Tee

Pros:

Amazing environment, very nostalgic vibes, excellent location for those who want to explore the old town. The staff was very helpful and kind. Very decent restaurant and one of the few places in India were you can get real coffee at your breakfast.
