Lovely and presentable rooms, perfect for short stays
I didn’t have anything to dislike about the property
The room was very clean, modern. Very good.
Description!!!!!! Advertised with picture inside the pub - it’s been shut since Jan 2025!!!!!!! Nothing in description, just 5 rooms behind a closed pub, false advertisement. Gave 5* as the accommodation is good, there is NO WHERE CLISE TO EAT.
Would never had stayed had I known pub was closed.
Room was already used. When we talked to provided number they told us that room cleaning is hotel’s responsibility but you will get refund. But I was don’t know what to do next. Today I saw your request so I’m putting request here

Ease of parking & quiet location
We were aware but fact that original hotel is closed is a definite negative for eating.

I had confirmed my booking via the Booking.com confirmation email.
On Saturday afternoon I drove from my event to the accommodation, arriving at around 16:30. There was nobody around. I waited and tried the telephone number for the Old Talbot - no answer, so I left a message. I later saw three people enter the site and walking to the accommodation. I spoke to them and they said that I should have received details to access a key box to obtain the key for the accommodation. I had not received any such information.
Because I was due to go out to a dinner event, I needed to get changed and prepared. I was rather anxious. I sent off an email explaining my situation. With no response I had to take action and so looked for alternative accommodation and succeeded in finding a vacancy at a hotel in Towcester and immediately set off there and just managed to get to my dinner event in time.
It was only later when I returned after the dinner that I found an email from Brent of the Old Talbot giving the necessary codes for the accommodation - much, much too late and after inconvenience and further expenditure.
Altogether, virtually a total disaster barring my finding alternative accommodation at very short notice. Why wasn't I informed of the codes beforehand and with full details of access? I expect a refund in full for this episode!
