The close location to the national park.
We booked a triple room for 3 of us, upon arrival I noticed we had only put 2 people in a triple room. We were forced to spend an additional 540k dong for a 2nd room for 2 nights (Even though the price on booking.com was the same for 2 adults or 3 adults) We were also given the triple room and a double room, I can completely understand a small additional fee for an extra adult, but whats the point in a triple room if 3 people cant stay in it. We felt like it was an excuse to make more money. The room smelt and looks very damp, and unfortunately, I can't recommend staying here. the AC unit filter is covered in mold, and we believe this is what led to all 3 of us getting sick with infections. The general cleanliness is below average. There was a pair of pants from the last guest in one of the rooms along with some general rubbish. It's not bad value but due to the dampness and mould I cannot reccomend.
I like the location since it nears Cuc Phuong National Park and the atmosphere around the gate of the motel (I must say this is a motel not a hotel). I didn't expect too much for the place tbh, we just need a proper place to sleep for the night.
The owners who is a middle aged couple, did not handle well the online booking management, we had a little trouble right after checking in. I literally said that I booked the room on the Booking website, showed them my booking and they mistook me for someone else's name, told us that they gave us the wrong room. We were stayed at that room because we've already checked in. But they were kept saying that I didn't make the problem clear enough for them to check. I need to repeat again "I literally said that I booked the room on the Booking website, showed them my booking". So they gave us a discomfort from the start. Next is the light in the bathroom, it kept flicking on/off, we had to do things in darkness and light constantly, really pissed us off. Finally, I don't know about other customers, but there's a slight discrimination towards local tourists, since I saw how they treat between Vietnamese tourists and foreign tourists. If you tell me that would I visit again this motel again then the answer is no, but if I only a place that's cheap and has a bed to sleep then maybe.
Also, around that motel there's no place for you to have a proper meal, since they closed all the shops, restaurants around 8 p.m. I recommend you to stay at another hotel where located center of the city for a destination like Cuc Phuong National Park, you can literally commute by bikes or cars, it's not that far.
This place was exceptional. Huge clean rooms in an older characterful building. Very close to the national park we would definitely stay again.
Nothing.
Great location for the Cuc Phuong national park! The couple who own it are very kind, and very helpful. There is also a bus from here to Hanoi, which helped me as that’s my next stop
Very close to Cuc Phuong National Park
Nowhere to eat nearby. Scooter hire available but more expensive than most places in Vietnam. Room was supposed to have balcony and mountain views but didn't.
The hotel is very close to the national park which is very useful.
- There is no ATM near the hotel, the closest one is a 32 min drive so bring enough money!
- The owner doesnt speak any English so google translate is a must.
- The room is a little outdated and although it wasnt dirty, it could use a good cleaning. I think the price is a little high for what you get.
Really lovely couple who run it, her cooking is amazing and homegrown veggies. I had dinner and lunch cooked for me at whatever time I needed, it was like staying with family. Also could do my laundry. Great size room and beautiful house. Very close to the national park and village.
Good location, clean, nice setting, ok view, nice shared sitting area for the rooms on the landing. Older man who did the check-in was nice.
Windows didn't properly close, drinking water not included in the room, scant facilities, no breakfast, woman at check-out was not nice, only towels for the shower were small hand towels.
The owner was very rude when we arrived, the rooms were not clean
Hosts are extremely friendly, welcoming and very accommodating.
No problems at all.
Very off the beaten track and not at all touristy
Felt like a part of the community
Everyone very helpful. Even a free drop off at the national park and free fruit - although that my be mainly due to a misunderstanding over the booking. No frills bungalows more designed for local travellers but enjoyable
Huge misunderstanding due to property description on your app. We booked for ONE bungalow with 3 bedrooms and a living room. Not 3 single bungalow with one bedroom
Not sure if this has been corrected yet. Family running the place were very kind and gave us a discount and freebies to make up for the misunderstanding. I don’t think it was intentional. They speak no English and it all may have got lost in translation.
Lovely people running the homestay. Very helpful with anything that I needed. The room was lovely and quiet with beautiful views. The location of the homestay is one of the biggest drawcards because it's very close to the park - walking or bike riding distance.
Nice and cozy stay on walking distance to the National Park, great location! Very helpful owners who welcomed us with coffee in the morning.
The owner was very friendly and gave us complimentary tea and coffee each morning
