Lovely place to stay, just off the A1 and close to Alnwick Castle
Pros:

Our stay was excellent value for money. Although our room was a bit small, we hadn't set our expectations too high because we were paying more in other places during our road trip around Northumberland. It's a very peaceful place to spend a night or two, or even more if you like the peace and quiet. It has very nice grounds to walk around and it's only a 10-15 minute drive to Alnwick Castle, which is the main reason we booked it. We would love to go back again, but we'd want to stay in a bigger room.

Cons:

We were there in June, when the weather was perfect outside, but the room was too warm with no fan. We could open the window, but there was nothing stopping flies from getting in (a net would have been helpful). Our main disappointment was with the full English breakfast which we had been looking forward. The bacon was oily, the fried eggs overcooked and the black pudding was dry.

Excellent relaxing break in a perfectly located hotel
Pros:

The hotel is beautiful, set in picturesque, peaceful surroundings. We had 2 rooms in the Pole Barn which were quiet and undisturbed even with weddings taking place at the venue. The hotel and rooms are furnished to a high standard and the bedrooms have very comfy beds and fabulous walk in showers. Rooms also had a private terrace facing the woods. Breakfast and evening dinner were delicious. Food is of a very high standard. All staff were friendly and helpful but extra shout out to Daniel who made us very welcome and Eamon who went above and beyond to look after us and make us laugh! Will definately return snd have no hesitation recommending.

Cons:

Petty grumble when everything was so good but the desserts were very overpriced even bearing the quality in mind

The grounds were lovely, staff friendly, one dinner exceptional, second didn’t make it!
Pros:

There free breakfast was adequate and the paid breakfast looked amazing.

Cons:

We stayed in the newer huts by the pond. Lovely view of pond. They only had a bed and no chairs to sit in the room. The huge tin hot tub was not at all inviting so we didn’t chose to use it.

The stay was excellent and we will definitely return and spend more nights with you.
Pros:

Food was good, service was very polite and accommodating.

Cons:

No gym or swimming pool is a big facility that the hotel would benefit from, especially given the location.

Pros:

The seclusion and the excellent views.

Cons:

1. No elevator to level 1.
2. The gravelled areas were difficult to walk on, especially for the ladies in open shoes.
3. Serious consideration needs to be made on the venue seats as they are not suitable (comfortable) for sitting in for more than 30 minutes.
4. Room 308 -
a, I'm not sure why it was so hot in our room.
b, Very noisy with large external fans running 24/7.
c, Room cleanliness on the whole good apart from the floor, it may appear to be clean but needs a better cleaning regime due to the fact when when wearing socks and before putting shoes on the sole of my feet where full of hairs etc.

Absolute dream stay
Pros:

Most incredible place I've ever stayed. Everything was perfect and the breakfast included was a lovely end to our stay. 100% will be back and telling everyone they must experience the cabins.
