Koh Tao Relax Freedom Beach Resort

Quiet beach with private area. Friendly staff, very clean. Perfect beach.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, with beautiful corals and colorful fish just a short swim from the beach — simply put on your snorkel and go. The beach was clean, with soft white sand and a peaceful atmosphere. Service was excellent, and the staff made us feel very welcome. With two restaurants and a bar on-site, we had everything we needed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing seaside escape!

Quarto amplo, vista linda, praia deliciosa, bom restaurante.
Dificuldade de deslocamento para quem não dirige moto.
Sentimos falta de cadeira ou poltrona no quarto e de local para acomodar roupa e bagagem. A água do chuveiro poderia ser um pouco mais generosa.

Sehr schöne Hütten direkt am Meer. Alles bestens. Nur das Gelände verdient mehr Sauberkeit

We were in bungalow #47, which is surrounded by trashes and dirt. We had the feeling being in a recycling center ! The sink was totally clogged.
Last but not least, the personnel at the front office were totally unfriendly, in particular what seems to be the manager of the resort (other staff out of the front office was nice). During our 3 weeks trip in Thailand we were never received like this.
The food in the restaurants was average.
Apart of that, view was very nice and located close to the beach...
We'll never go back to this resort for sure.

Cet hôtel n’a d’intérêt que son emplacement sur freedom beach et proche du suan view point.
Nous avions une villa avec piscine vue mer. Sur ce point top. Villa propre et confortable.
Par contre, extra bed pour notre fils horrible. Matelas très fin. Une planche de bois inconfortable et indigne du prix payé pour le logement.
Pour la qualité du petit déjeuner, passez votre chemin. Très quelconque et pas frais (les fruits et le yaourt sont à température ambiante voire chaud).
Hôtel excentré (ce qui a son charme par rapport à sa situation sur freedom beach) et de ce fait taxi obligatoire si on veut se déplacer. L’hôtel en profite pour proposer des tarifs excessifs à mon sens.
Par contre, point positif : Navette gratuite à l’aller pour rejoindre l’hôtel et au retour pour rejoindre le port.
Le pire est la qualité de service et surtout l’accueil du personnel qui est déplorable voire inexistant et désagréable. Aucun effort pour rendre service ou être aimable et se faire comprendre des clients. Ma pire expérience en Thaïlande sur ce point.

First of all, the property is not accessible. There is a big hill separating it from all of the restaurants and shops so you have to taxi everywhere or hike up a mountain. Also the hotel staff seemed like they had no idea what’s going on. Every question I asked them was met with I don’t know or no response. For example, the air conditioning broke and I called the hotel five times and no one every picked up. Also the door was locked with a padlock. Moreover, a strange man left his sweaty t shirt in our room???? Again tried to call the hotel to address it but there was no response. An extremely inappropriate situation. The sheets were stained and never changed. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anybody.

On est séduit par les photos de l’établissement et les chambres.
En effet, la chambre front de mer est une chouette expérience.
Les coursives de l’hôtel ne m’ont pas dérangé.
L’hôtel est un peu à l’écart mais à 6 min par la plage, on trouve de supers restos.
Promenade vers un point de vue et une autre route raccourci pour aller à Shark bay, snoorkeling incroyable.
Devant l’hôtel pour le snoorkeling n’est pas le meilleur spot.
Petit déjeuner compris.
Il y à moyen de trouver qlq chose de bon, les petites crêpes et fruits sont très bons.
Les restes ne m’a pas intéressé pour un déjeuner.
Le lit d’appoint 3 personnes est très spartiate et dure.
Le bungalow mériterait un rafraîchissement.
Salle de bain rudimentaire et rideaux qui donne sur la vitre salle de bain/ mer pas terrible.
Personnel gentil.
Vêtements à nettoyer impeccable.
Taxi on peut trouver à 300 baths pour 3 pour le pier.
Taxi gratuit arriver et départ.
Défaut pour la chambre front de mer bcp de détruits.
On pourrait un peu ramasser les plastiques même si la mer en apporte ts les jours.
Au moins si on voyait une intention de le faire par le personnel qui oublie lui même ses bouteilles d’eau n’importe où.

NOT suitable for kids! I do not understand how they can advertise this for families. Why:
Lots of steep concrete stairs to get to the cabin, to breakfast, to the beach.

The chairs at breakfast are to big for infants and they have dogs walking around in the dining area growling at kids. The staff warned us: «the dog does’nt like kids». Then why the hell is that dog in the breakfast-area??

The cabins are full of ants. Both small and big sized. There’s moscitos, tusenbein… So much that I was not comfortable leaving my kid on the floor. When I brought it up with the staff they answered: «you live in the forrest, you have to accept some animals».

The last part of the road to the Hotel is so steep and rocky that you cannot go with a trolly. There’s no way of using the trolly at the resort either cause of all the stairs.

Bonjour , très joli hôtel et très bon restaurant jolie vue et plage très sympathique joli bungalows , dommage du manque de propreté dans le domaine , entre et autour des bungalows . Bouteilles , déchets en tout genre ! Et finitions générales ! Je conseille et j ai apprécié notre séjour f.j.

Villas were well maintained. Food was good. View was lovely from the patio. The whole resort was well maintained. Access to Taatoh private beach and Freedom Beach (50 baht to visit if not staying at the resort). Staff was friendly. Stayed here 9 nights and would return. Scooter rental available onsite - likely to get charged for minor scrapes and dings upon return. The cash deposit (chose this instead of leaving passport with them) was 7000 baht and got maybe 1000 baht back.

Helt utrolig smuk udsigt fra vores lille hytte.
Stranden foran hotellet er meget lavvandet og til tider plumret. Stranden bagved resortet - Freedom Beach er skøn med lidt dybere vand. Godt at snorkle sted. Der er kun dæk stole, ikke solstole. Hotellet tilbyder afhentning ved færgen, og kørsel tilbage når dit ophold slutter. Morgenmaden er lidt en skrabet version. Sød personale, dog er den “ ældre “ dame i receptionen en negativ model. Hotellet har taxi kørsel fra hotellet, og i nogle tilfælde kan man via WhatsApp aftale afhentning igen mod betaling. Hvis man ikke lejet scooter, så kører man meget i taxi / åben lad bil rundt på øen. De har faste priser på 100 bat pr. person.

The Manager at this property should be fired. I arrived at the pier and was picked up with a sign with my name on it. At check in I gave them my passport. They took me and another family with a child to room 002. There were 2 rooms with a shared deck. I thought this was strange because I booked a deluxe room and the photos on Expedia showed a private deck. I went to lobby and told her I think I’m in the wrong room. She yelled at me! No you booked a family room. I said no I did not, she said yes you did. I said I want to be moved. She said no I cannot the hotel is full and the entire island is full. I went and spoke with her every morning and she refused to move me. On the morning of my last day after being there 4 nights I went on the website and looked at the pictures of all the rooms. The room I was in 002 was The family room. The 2 rooms were together as the family room. So they put me in someone else’s room and sold my deluxe room to someone else. Not only did they screw me but they screwed the family that was supposed to have the entire place to themselves. I went to desk she yelled at me what is wrong now you here so early, it was 7am. I told her that I new I was sharing the family’s room and told her I was leaving and I wanted a full refund! She said I did not know you were a American? Anyway I got a refund and left, Beware. She did not refund me the money Expedia earned so that’s something I have to deal with next! Unbelievable

I booked a deluxe sea view room through Expedia. I paid a premium price for this room. It is pictured with a private patio and epic views. Upon check in I am followed by a family with a toddler. To my surprise they are staying in a room 2 feet apart from me and we all share a deck! The room has no sound proofing and I can hear everything they say or do. There is no hot water and they let people outside the hotel to use the facilities. There is not enough beach chairs for the paying in house guests let alone the outside day people. I went to management and asked to be moved as I am here 5 nights. She said that I booked a family room and there is nothing she can do. I did not book a family room! I booked a deluxe sea view room! She told me I needed to contact Expedia. Do not book this hotel from anyone not affiliated with it. You might end up sharing your space with strangers!

Très bon sejour : plages a proximité, restaurant.
Mon enfant a vomi et ils ont été très réactifs.
Seul hic : quelques cafards dans la salle de bain et apres un ondée, de l'eau coulait au travers du toit de la salle de bain. J'ai remonté l'information mais je n'ai pas vu de réactions.

Dejligt værelse (bungalow) på pæle. Fantastisk udsigt fra altan.
Meget skygge på strand grundet træer og mange gæster udefra der larmede og fyldte. Tæt på Shark Bay 1 og 2, der dog skal besøges tidligt inden stranden fyldes.

The motorbike rental service this hotel provides is a SCAM. With any other vehicle rental company they allow small scuffs the size of a coin, these guys charge for anything / everything. The island is crazy for parking and riding, my bike must have got knocked over at the beach and I didn't realize until I returned it, some tiny scuffs no bigger than a coin. The guy would not give me my passport back until I paid 2000 baht.
I asked the hotel reception for help and they were not interested. I spent a lot of money at the hotel and it is such a shame that this is how it ended.

Wunderschöne Bucht mit tollen Blick aufs Meer

Fin bungalow med underbar utsikt. Frukosten var inte så bra, kunde få finnas flera sorters bröd, pålägg, grönsaker som t.ex. gurka och paprika till smörgåsen vore bra. Bacon vore också bra om det fanns. Fanns endast en sorts marmelad t.ex. Personalen trötta och man fick intrycket att allt var jobbigt. Bra med tillgång till freedom beach, mycket vacker omgivning. Restaurangen vid Freedom beach, bra. Personalen där trevliga och flitiga.

Très bon séjour passé dans cette hôtel, les cabanons sont fabuleux, une belle vue sur la mer. Deux plages privées sont accessibles dont une réservée à l’hôtel. Petit déjeuner plutôt bon. Prévoir une moto ou un moyen de locomotion pour accéder aux restaurant à proximité de thong sala. Quelques restaurants sont accessible à pied mais prévoir une montée à gravir. La chambre n’a pas de tv, repos assuré.
