The Morgan Hotel Martha's Vineyard

The hotel costs a fortune for what it offers. $700/night and there is a virtual check in ( and BTW as I have a foreign Apple account, the key app cannot be downloaded so you need to call a number and some one , with time, will come to give you a physical key), no breakfast is offered in the premises and cleanliness is by far below standards (rug filthy, duvet cover with a spot of blood, filters uncleaned). And the smell from the water in the bathroom was disgusting.

Most importantly we payed for a petite queen bedroom, and I had a room where the bed was a full at best, certainly not a queen!, and the room was so petite that it could not fit an open luggage on the floor unless ready to compromise with safety which we did not. Net a very disappointing experience, and frankly with room for a refund as they did not deliver on what was supposed to be offered.

Few minor to complete the picture. No bathroom in the room and shampoo bottle was empty (they do not care to check them , I assume). The Ac unit blows directly to your face! Mattress, pillows and linen are not at the level of the price (better Ikea!).

Nightlife was a little loud since the hotel is directly across from a few bars. The room we were in also did not feature any darkening shades and was facing the east, so we were woken by the sunrise at around 5 am. It was intensely bright in the room. It was not the worst thing to wake with the sun, but if we had wanted to sleep in, it would be difficult.

Few channels on TV. Had to go to the pub across the street to view televised sporting events.

The check-in process was horrible. There were no humans there when I arrived. I had trouble getting in with the keypad entry process. I had to wait a half hour for a human to come and help me. He was very nice and helpful, but the whole process was off-putting, to say the least.

No bed light, only overhead with switch at door.
Plugs are too far from bed.
There’s a white noise machine. Why?
Very noisy fridge in room. I had to unplug it.
Terrible coffee.
I can see adjacent restaurant to be a noise problem in high season. Super early utility truck for restaurant had engine running.

It's a bit cramped to walk around the bed and sit on the verandah.

Unfortunately, the layout of the unit was not to our liking. No common area to sit together. Also, no air conditioning in two of the rooms. Also, only one bathroom.

A white noise machine was provided in the room. This was a first, but needed. Worked well.
