We loved our time there - it is not a 5 star room but you’re not there for that! There are so many cool things to do in

The restaurant was excellent, as was the pool and hot tub. The privacy from having a personal cabin was also great! The view (if it hadn’t been raining and cloudy around the volcano) would be amazing! It was a beautiful spot to be staying at, even with the rain. The people who manage the property are amazing - super friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable! Best advice they gave: Don’t let the rain stop your plans! Everything is just about as fun in the rain and you can’t do anything about it anyway!

Cons:

The only thing I will say is that the cabin didn’t have a chest/drawers to put our clothes away in and the absence of a mirror in the room, other than the little one above the sink was a little disappointing. Small things only, over all.

Pros:

Chateau Arenal is hidden away in the country side. The staff are amazing and the food was the best we had on the whole trip. Get the sea bass! Clean and spacious rooms. I highly recommend staying here!

Secluded and gorgeous view. Staff and breakfast both amazing.
Pros:

The view is amazing! Absolutely stunning view over the volcano and lake. Rooms are clean and the staff is 11/10! Maria thank you so much for being the best, helping us with all the tours and ensuring the best service. Breakfast was delicious too. Overall we just loved the fact of being immersed in nature and more secluded.
Pool was a nice add on!

Cons:

Being more secluded means that you’re further away from the main town of La Fortuna (30min drive). Especially at night, not the best since the road is dark. However, you will be close to the volcano park entrance. Rooms were a bit outdated and the mattresses not the most comfortable.

Pros:

C’était beau, propre, le personnel ultra sympathique, le jacuzzi et surtout la nourriture était excellente, le déjeuner inclus très bon et nous avons également souper chaque soir au restaurant de la place. Nourriture 10/10 et vraiment pas cher !!!

Cons:

Rien, j’ajouterais peut être un petit peu d’équipement dans les logements mais c’est tout l. Tout était parfait !

Lovely hotel for relaxation
Pros:

The views were fantastic and great for bird watching.
There was a wide variety of food for all meals and portion sizes were great.
The staff were all very friendly and chatty.
The welcome cocktail was a nice touch too.

Cons:

Pillows were terrible and the bed was uncomfortable and creaky. Woke up with a sore neck every morning.
Also, when the guests staying above us used the bathroom in anyway, there was a loud gurgling noise coming through our drain.
It is also a bit of a drive to the main tourist areas of La Fortuna.

Bon accueil de Maria et Robert avec un cocktail de bienvenue. Mais malheureusement cela n'a pas suffit pour rendre notre séjour agréable et nous avons quitté cet endroit avec un jour d'avance . Apparemment, la direction refuse de nous rembourser.

Cons:

Notre logement était vétuste. Le parking plein de boue et de flaques d'eau. Pas de lampe de chevet. Salle de douche d'un autre siècle. Photos du site Booking.com trompeuses.
Ne vous fiez pas au nom pompeux de " Chateau" Arenal. Le village de El Castillo est un trou sans intérêt.
Il y a plein d'adresses au même prix et beaucoup mieux à La Fortuna.
Nous déconseillons fortement cet endroit

Pros:

My rather bad scoring, this is important to say, only counts for the room. The staff is amazing and they do their best an more to make you feel good. Thanks to Mr. Robert (Redford), Maria and the kitchen team, they deserve the full 10 points. The food from the restaurant is delicious, don't search elsewhere. The pool and the hottub are very nice, too.

Cons:

The room was more than outdated, no space for clothes, three forgotten hangers on a seedy curtain rod, squeaky beds with worn-out matrasses, a slat broke during the first night and we slept half on the ground. It was fixed next day (as I said before, staff is great), but still it was extremly uncomfortable. Luckily we did not need the airconditioning, we started it once, it made a horrible noise. The bathroom was rather run-down as well.

Pros:

Piscine agréable mais froide. Heureusement le jacuzzi est bien chaud.
Vue imprenable pour le petit déjeuner

Cons:

Chambre vieillotte. Literie à revoir. Petite salle de bain dans son jus qui mériterait un bon rafraîchissement.
