Prachtig uitzicht, echt fantastisch. Het is er mooi en rustig, perfecte plek om te ontspannen.
Niets, heerlijke plek.
We loved our stay at El Castillo. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, and the room was luxurious. We ate most of our meals there. Breakfast included coffee, fresh tropical juice, fresh fruit, and your choice of the entree. We loved sitting by the pool, relaxing and unwinding. As other reviewers have noted, parking is tight, as in most places in Costa Rica, and they were very helpful.
The road up to the hotel is steep and hard packed dirt/gravel. It has been well maintained, we had no difficulty driving it and did not see potholes.
Tiene una vista hermosa, exc servicio.
Nada.
El Castillo is a real gem. We stayed here for 11 nights and it felt more like a private villa than a hotel. The staff were amazing, the rooms are very comfortable and the view is breathtaking. The hotel’s restaurant is very good, and there are plenty of dining options in the vicinity, if you feel like dining out - we found three in Ojochal alone. There are beautiful local beaches and there is plenty to do in the vicinity, but I would recommend a hire car. All in all a very special Hotel in a special part of the world. Definitely worth a visit!
everything excellent. Cocktails by the pool, excellent food, very friendly and attentive staff. We especially liked the architecture, beautiful windows and doors, all wood, most places in Costa Rica are too modern now for our taste. This hotel had a very nice tropical design. We didn't even use the airco, just the fan and open windows.
We love the privacy of the hotel, absolutely love the food and the scenery was breathtakingly amazing
We love everything about this property ,
Superb!!!! Just a wonderful experience. Great wine selection, by the way.
Excellent Staff
The road up to the property!
The place is spectacular. The view, the pool, the customer service—especially Roxana—and the food were wonderful.
Nothing… just wonderful.
nos encantó el lugar a nivel general.
Jose and all the staff were extremely welcoming. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great cocktails to watch the sun setting
Super Lage. Essen vorzüglich. Personal sehr freundlich
We treated my husband's brother to dinner and a night at El Castillo for his birthday and first visit to Costa Rica. It was pitch perfect! The pool, the cocktails, the sunset, the dinner and the two bedroom suite were all ideal for our needs.
Kudos to Abdul and Francisco for making our time especially memorable!
You have to be prepared to take some time to park your vehicle. It all works but it's not...spacious
What a place this is! We reserved one of the larger rooms in the main building - room number 5. Very spacious. The views from the room, the pool and the restaurant area are absolutely amazing - a 180 degree sea view. Staff are fabulous and a special mention for Jose. Sunbeds great, parking easy and it was very exclusive and boutique. It was never busy and we felt we were being looked after well at all times. The restaurant is wonderful (for all meals). We ate there 2 out of 5 nights and went into Uvita for 3 dinners (which is about 20 minutes drive north). We went to La Cusingas Lodge for lunch too - I'd recommend that (about 10/15 minutes north).
I score this as a 10, so these comments do not detract from my rating. The balcony to the room is small and to be honest, we hardly used it. The doors to the balconies - in my opinion - need replacing because they currently do very little to block out any road noise. I suggest these could be replaced with suitable new frames that fully seal and sound protect the rooms. Road noise - this is nothing the hotel can do anything about and again, being honest, it didn't really bother us at all. But you do get the odd heavy truck pounding down the road below the hotel. The access road is quite steep and rather rough. We had a Toyota Rav4 so it was fine. Go slow and watch the bumps! Again, just be aware. It wasn't a concern for us.
