The cleanliness
The gym wasn’t that good
On-site spa: Having a spa within the hotel is convenient, especially after a long day of sightseeing or travelling.
* Reasonable massage prices: Massages cost approximately £30–£60, depending on the treatment, which seems reasonable.
* Room service: The availability of room service is convenient when you prefer to eat in your room.
* Spacious wardrobe: The wardrobe provides plenty of storage space.
* Complimentary amenities: The hotel provides two bottles of water and useful toiletries, including a toothbrush, comb and razor.
* Room appearance: The room looks better in the photos than it does in reality. It isn’t terrible, but the pictures make it look more appealing.
* Gym opening hours: The gym only opens from 10 am to 7 pm. An earlier opening time would be much more convenient for guests who want to work out before starting their day or heading out on tours.
* Cleanliness: I ordered tea and the cup provided was dirty inside. I took a photograph of this to include with my review.
* Thin walls and poor soundproofing: You can clearly hear guests in neighbouring rooms talking, flushing toilets and stomping around. This makes it difficult to enjoy a quiet and peaceful stay.
* Disappointing breakfast: The selection was limited, with only a few pastries available, most of which were dry and bread-like.
The hotel is like a little oasis in the middle of Thamel and great to escape the noise and hustle after exploring the city. The staff is very nice and attentive, the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The garden is of course beautiful as well.
The breakfast was okay and in comparison to other places we saw quite high, but you shouldn’t expect western standards.

The property was in a perfect location. Felt very secluded, but was close to everything. The lush garden area was so beautiful and the restaurant was great. Very clean, would definitely book again.

My favourite hotel in Kathmandu!
This is my 5th time staying at Thrive, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is great, and the beautiful courtyard is a relaxing place to spend time. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful.
After having an unpleasant experience at another hotel, I returned to Thrive, and Mr Vikas, the manager, was very kind and welcoming. I really appreciated his thoughtfulness, and it reminded me why I love staying here so much.
I feel at home at Thrive. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Kathmandu and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

A tranquil space in the edge of busy Thamel.
The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. All the staff where very pleasant and helpful.

It’s in the center of Thamel, so it is close to most sights in the city. It’s cleverly located so that the noise of the chaotic Kathmandu streets doesn’t reach the hotel. The hotel is quite modern, especially the rooms. Very spacious and well maintained.
The breakfast buffet was cold and didn’t have the best quality. The spa could be better.

The rooms were fine and the grounds were just lovely very tropical and beautiful. The restaurant was fantastic. We had a great meal. You were happy with everything.
