This hotel is situated in a quiet area near the hubbub that is Thamel and offers all the usual modern amenities like good bathrooms with walk in showers etc. This place though has a superb manager name Gopal who is exceptionally helpful and friendly. If you want to make trips anywhere, the owner, Surendra, is an efficient and friendly organiser who arranged a trip to Bhutan for us at short notice and was a trekking guide for many years it seems so has expert knowledge. We have visited Nepal many times over the years and recommend this hotel without question as great value for money.
The only slight nag is that the breakfast gets a bit boring but there is lots of choice nearby.

Situated in a quiet alley, this hotel is very good for a quiet stay. Very well located near Thamel and safe area
Breakfast options could be improved and there is no lift in the hotel. So carrying luggage to upper floors is a hassle

I also book a jeep service from Kathmandu to Dharapani , Falgun is very good driver even the road conditions are bad ,but he drive so safe good skill , recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Maya Hotel! Every single staff member went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The teams on both the morning and evening shifts were incredibly friendly, professional, and always greeted us with warm smiles.
A special mention must go to the hotel manager, who was extremely helpful and made sure every detail of our stay was seamless. That level of hospitality and genuine care is rare to find. Beautiful hotel, brilliant service, and an amazing team—we can’t wait to come back!
Stayed here for 3D2N, room is spacious enough for solo traveler. Its quiet throughout the night. Very convenient location. For me its 10/10
