Central London property-ensuite, double and budget room

The overall experience was very poor due to multiple issues.

Firstly, the access code system was unreliable. I was given an incorrect room code, which left me locked out of my room late at night. It later turned out that the code had been changed without any prior notice.

Secondly, the room facilities were not properly maintained. The TV had no signal and was barely functional, the mattress sank and the bed made loud creaking noises when turning, and the shower was clogged, causing water to flood out during use.

More importantly, there were serious safety concerns. The front door of the flat was not securely locked both when I checked in and checked out. While this may have been due to other guests not closing it properly, the property should have an automatic locking system in place—especially given that the bathroom is shared and accessible from outside the room. As it stands, anyone could enter the flat and access the shared areas.

There was a notice inside reminding guests to lock the door, which suggests the owner is aware of this issue but has not taken proper action to resolve it.

I was not expecting a full refund, but I did seek reasonable compensation. However, when I contacted the property owner, my concerns were dismissed entirely and I was accused of being dishonest and trying to get a free stay. This response was extremely unprofessional and disappointing.

El llit era incòmode. La dutxa del wc absorvia l'aigua. La cuina no és podia utilitzar perquè hi havia llençols assecant-se. La nevera s'havia de desendollar durant la nit, peç soroll, però això no és problema. Ens hi vam trobar el menjar dels últims inquilins.

Partager la salle de bain et toilette pas top surtout qd l’autre personne se permet de mettre de l’eau partout le dernier jour pour nous.

Il faisait assez froid dans la chambre et je n'ai pas réussi à faire fonctionner le radiateur.
Heureusement, la couette tenait suffisamment chaud

The kitchen did not look like the photos. There was a pile of dirty washing, an airer taking up half the kitchen. The kitchen was dirty and very messy. Appreciate it’s a shared apartment, but the level of hygiene was poor. Hard to believe a cleaner came in everyday. The room was ok, but left us worrying how throughly that had been cleaned.
