Is loud and not very clean

Darkness in every area.
As soon as you walked into the reception area your eyesight took minutes to adjust to the darkness. Couldn't see many of the staffs faces on entering the building which was discerning.
Needed my touch light to read menus.
And find buttons and switches to certain items. Couldn't even make out the buttons on the TV remote.
Corridors were dark and finding the way around due to lack of signs.
No fire evacuation plans in the rooms and no evacuations signs observed.
They may have been there but it was too dark to see them.
No natural air from the windows, they were completely sealed up and the air on rattled all night so didn't sleep well.
No choice of a white light to read or do make up etc.

Very dark as soon as you walk into hotel all the way to room I know its to mimmick the setting but still to dark...lights in room very difficult to use unsure what one does what woke up wife several lights going on except the one I required...

Room was very small for the price.

I had high hopes for this hotel as it seems to have a great reputation but we were so disappointed. I understand that the hotel had a dark, gloomy vibe but it is actually just so badly lit that it makes for an uncomfortable stay. You walk into reception and it’s like they just haven’t turned the lights on. The windows in the room have big wooden shutters that can’t be opened fully so you get minimal natural light and no fresh air. The bed was so small that it made for an uncomfortable sleep. I don’t even think it was a classic double, it was much smaller. There is no kettle in the room or a phone, you have to use a WhatsApp number to get in touch with the hotel. The bathroom was weirdly laid out so that the toilet was right at the door so much the door scraped the base when being closed and there were long dark hairs all over the shower wall from the previous guests. It is not a hotel room that I would want to relax in. The hallways getting to the room are also very dark and frankly didn’t feel comfortable or welcoming. Considering the hype this hotel gets I was excited to stay here but would not recommend it and would not stay here again. If I hadn’t got a deal and had paid full price I would not have been happy.

.The TV could only be used by casting from my own device. I didn't have a suitable device with me so I was unable to access TV . The hotel description mentions streaming but I took this to mean a normal "smart" TV which it doesn't. This should be made clearer. Also the hotel is next to a homeless shelter and I found it slightly intimidating to have crowds of people milling around outside the shelter

The room was fabulous but we find it a bit small with a lack of storage.

The room was extremely small without any window. There was an incident with a pipe in the room next to us so they had to evacuate the floor for almost an hour. I think some small compensation for that could have been nice.
