This little gem in the heart of Georgetown will provide for creature comforts of all kinds. I slept like a log while traveling for an in town event. Soooo convenient and certainly well maintained. Met all my needs and requests.
We had a wonderful stay at the St James Hotel. The hotel was right next to downtown Georgetown! There were a lot of great places to eat and the room was clean and cozy.
Built in 1875 so it’s rustic. Our room was clean and comfortable. We chose it because it’s right downtown, it’s a great location for exploring the city.
Great stay! Comfortable beds, quiet, loved the bathtub. Walked everywhere, Darla was very accommodating and quick to respond. We felt well rested and relaxed after our stay and would stay again.
The hotel is a cute bed and breakfast style place. The rooms were comfy and had a nice historic vibe. The shared kitchen/lobby had all the proper continental breakfast fixings. If you like the charm of B&B's combined with cozy/comfy rooms then this is the place for you!
Love the historical st James hotel
The darlingest little B&B in the darlingest little mountain town! We can’t wait to return!
We stayed on a family suite 202, the bathroom tube is horrible to use. very bad design. Looks pretty but not functional.

We booked months in advance, drawn by the location and decent reviews, thinking it was perfect for our 4-night trip. Everything was planned around staying here, and the price seemed reasonable.
When we arrived on January 2nd, we were told plumbing had been worked on that morning. The place smelled old, but we brushed it off. The first night was awful—loud banging from upstairs kept us awake past midnight. When I messaged the owner, she dismissed it, saying quiet hours started at 11 PM. The room was also hot, and the janky window slammed shut when we tried to open it.
On the second day, the toilet clogged after using the shower and sink. The owner said repairs wouldn’t happen until the next morning and suggested using the hallway bathroom. Later, we were told the toilet was beyond repair and offered a refund for unused nights. However, it was impossible to find a similar place last minute.
The shared shower wasn’t cleaned, so I had to wash dirty towels myself. The small kitchen, shared with other guests, was inconvenient, and some of our labeled food was taken. Despite thoroughly cleaning everything before leaving, the owner refused to honor the refund she had agreed to, making false claims that we hadn’t paid a dog deposit (never mentioned) and had trashed the room.
The host is dishonest and spiteful. This place was an uncomfortable and frustrating experience. Save yourself the trouble—find a better option!
The host was nice and communicative but never responded to our request to have a discount given that we accented to be there the first night even when the swage/water system were being used. I appreciated the offer to get a refund, but we did not have any other option than staying and they just did not answer our question for a partial discount. The rest of the stay was ok. The building is old tho and if you are staying downstair you truly hear lots of noice from the people upstairs and the heating system.

Our room was very cute and comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful!
Charming, small historic hotel in equally historic Georgetown. Centrally located to scenic drives, trails, and larger towns. Downtown is a block over and we were able to walk to nearby cafés and bars.
The Saint James Hotel is a wonderful historic buidling. We had an entire family suite to ourselves on the second floor. It was super clean and tastefully decorated. Very cozy. Wish we could’ve stayed there longer. We really like the way the kitchen downstairs was set up where we could prepare our own breakfast from a fully stocked refrigerator and pantry. Felt like we were guests in someone’s home. A wonderful and unique experience. Georgetown is a charming historic town from the 1800s and a great place for shopping, eating and enjoying the beauty of its natural surroundings.
Excellent service and very cosy historical place including full my stocked kitchen use!
This is a wonderful, unique property. Great place to spend a few days enjoying Georgetown. Right in the heart of town so you can easily walk to everything.
Easy and convenient…very well maintained.
