Repeat Experience as Good as the First
Pros:

I stayed here before, and it was a great experience, so this time I booked again. Was upstairs, with a dog, wasn't brilliant, as people walked past our window all evening. However, the grounds are dog friendly, so we could just pop out easily. Staff were very helpful and accommodating for both meals. Food was very tasty, a good dining experience. The shower room was very nicely fitted out, good shower. Bed comfortable.

Cons:

Being upstairs with a dog

Perfect
Pros:

Clean and well maintained. Staff polite and very helpful. Nothing too much trouble

Cons:

Authentic without being grubby and looking tired. The owner had kept its charm but made upgrades inkling with the property. Just class surroundings

Highly recommend. The staff were lovely, rooms comfortable and great location.
Pros:

The venue was exactly what we needed as a group of us were staying. It had a lounge area that we could all mix in. The bar was great and the dining facilities excellent. Food was incredibly good. Staff were amazing, especially the receptionist and lily the bar manager who managed to sort out a booking error on my part without fuss and extremely satisfactorily.

Cons:

Nothing not to like

Nice place to stay
Pros:

Decent hotel to stay at. Comfy bed and plenty of parking

Cons:

There was a distinct dog smell in our room. Perhaps they could separate the rooms that allow dogs from those that don’t. After all, not everyone enjoys the smell of dogs.

On the whole, it was good value for money for a stay of a couple of days or so.
Pros:

Really located for the nearby wedding venue that we were attending.

Cons:

Some things that we take for granted in most other hotels were either not there or not fully operational. For example, there were no bottles of water in the room and no internal/room-to-room phone system. One ironing board and iron seemed to have to cater for the whole site. WiFi was weak (we were in a courtyard room). The in-bath shower unit could have done with wall-mounted rails for safety, along with a non-slip mat to stand on. None of these items were potential deal breakers, but took the edge off our overall enjoyment.

On the plus side, all staff members we dealt with were very welcoming and courteous; we had a mix-up at one of our breakfasts, but when this was brought to their attention, it was handled swiftly and efficiently. The place was clean, the hot water was hot and the shower was of reasonable pressure.

On the whole, it was good value for money for a stay of a couple of days or so.
