Pros:

Location, buildings and surrounds all good.
Food very good.
Proximity to other places of interest very good.

Cons:

Would have preferred a ground floor room as there was no lift.

Clean, comfortable and situated in a stunning area
Pros:

Clean and comfortable property in an idillic area. Gorgeous gardens, car park available. Staff were a delight, ever so helpful. Ideal for a one night stay with two adults and two children. We stayed in room 31 on the 1st floor. Double bed and two single beds, tea coffee station, coffee, tea, milk, sugar, plenty of towels. The windows could do with a clean, black mould around it but that can be easily cleaned.
10minutes drive from Scarborough beach. Chippy, spar and fuel station 2minutes drive from the property. We had breakfast the next morning, plenty to choose from.

A good stay
Pros:

The room was warm and cozy, plenty of space for me and my partner to get ready for a wedding that night

Cons:

Initially the blinds were broken causing a privacy issue but the staff promptly fixed them, the bathroom was missing a toilet brush and could have used a mat next to the bath to avoid slipping when getting out of the shower

Pros:

The room was large, 2 singles and a double bed. Large bathroom. Plenty of clean towels. Breakfast was good.

Cons:

Noise from above kept us awake, everytime they moved we could hear it, the sound of the toilet and sink even moving in bed. Would have preferred an upstairs room.

Well run hotel.
Pros:

Hotel well kept

Cons:

Could not find place to park after returning at 8-30pm. Loads of room for cars to be parked safely if other guests parked properly and did not take up room for 2 cars.

Noisy!
Pros:

Very good value. Good location. The gardens are lovely. Reception staff friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The noise! Constant noise from the rooms above. The people above us were heavy footed and loud mouthed but tbf, we would have heard anyone. The floorboards creak so much that you hear every single footstep. Also taps running, the shower etc. impossible to relax.
The kitchen staff also had dreadful music blaring out incredibly loudly for hours.

A hotel that deserves to do better
Pros:

The staff were pleasant. And as dog owners, we were made very welcome. Ground-floor accommodation made available to us. Lovely surroundings. Plenty of parking spaces,

Cons:

I do not like to write negatively about my experiences especially as the hotel staff were so nice. But if everybody only writes good reviews the hotel cannot improve itself. So here we go.
The cooked breakfasts were not consistent. Scrambled egg on toast came on one occasion as toast cut and buttered with plenty of scrambled egg. The second occasion consisted of a small portion of scrambled egg with dry-cut toast placed at the side of the plate! The breakfast table was sadly lacking in variation and quality; the fruit bowl was dire.
We booked a ground floor room as our dog has problems climbing stairs. Great as many hotels do not provide these rooms. Mistake, we heard every footstep above us. One late afternoon for over one hour we heard what sounded as though furniture was being moved about, scraping from one end of the room to the other and as though they were training for a walkathon too! Then one morning at 6am the walkathon started up for one hour plus, with water on, water off. The sound of taps on and off was too much. The ground floor rooms do need sound proofing. The shower area was poorly designed, water went everywhere and the flooring became slippery and with us golden oldies we are slightly unsteady on our feet and so the fear of slipping.
It did not help on Sunday morning at 2 am being woken by drunks!
Did we complain? No, because it is not the staffs fault, they cannot vet customers and it is the owners who need to know that adjustments need to be made,
Again it is not the sort of review I like to write and in some respects the hotel does not deserve such negativity but it is what it is.
