La primera habitación estaba sucia y llena de bichos. Nos la cambiaron por una mas grande en la que el aire no cambiaba de 25° y no había mando para usar la tele. Baje a recepción y no había nadie. Amanecimos inundados con dos dedos de agua en el suelo de la habitacion. Mi mujer se cayó golpeándose las rodillas. Las mochilas empapadas y los móviles que estaban cargando en el suelo también. Los cables del enchufe de la nevera unidos con cinta aislante estaban dentro del agua. Seguía sin haber nadie en recepción. Incluía desayuno pero no había donde desayunar así que nos ofrecieron hacerlo en un puesto callejero a las siete de la mañana y por supuesto estaba cerrado cuando bajamos. Desaconsejo totalmente reservar en este lugar.

Not sure how this hotel got its good reviews but just like many places in Vietnam I believe reviews can be fake. Cause there’s no way that people genuinely think this is a nice hotel 🤔
I’ve slept in different accommodations in Vietnam and I’m not a princess either but this place was nasty. A place doesn’t have to be modern to be nice and clean. Hong Kong Hotel in Cat Ba is not well maintained and it seems like they just don’t care to maintain it either. As a result, rooms are dirty and wet.
The bathroom has a terrible design. Maybe it was just my room, but the shower was basically just a showerhead in the middle of the room with no glass or anything around. So when you had a shower the whole floor was wet and if you needed the toilet after, or use the sink, there was water absolutely everywhere. But to be honest, I wouldn’t have wanted to step anywhere without my slippers on anyways.
I had cockroaches in my room which came out at night…lovely 😅
Overall you’re better off staying in a hostel. there’s some really nice ones on the island.

The room was very small and the shower water was only hot for a few minutes at a time.
The staff notified me in advance about the weather in Cat Ba island. Thanks to him, I brought an extra jacket, and I am very pleased with this support. Additionally, he helped me call a taxi . A small tip: ask the receptionist about beautiful places in Cat ba island, and he will guide you.
If you're looking for a peaceful place with fresh air, clean rooms, and tasty food.
Small but very comfortable room, we were on a high floor but the building has an elevator so easy to access. The included breakfast was brilliant (multiple different options and good portion size), and the staff were friendly and helpful with booking excursions and onward travel.
The bed was pretty comfy. The central location with the fantastic Casa Bonita next door. The reasonable room rate. The staff’s responsiveness and friendliness. A lift to your floor.
The shower temperature. The breakfast was pretty bland. The K clubs behind the hotel can be noisy. The lack of sufficient power outlets for charging.
The hot showers were perfect, and the paid breakfast was a tasty.
The receptionist was incredibly accommodating, and the clean, refreshing foyer was a welcome escape from the heat of Vietnam. The walk up from the bay was charming, offering an authentic and local vibe. The restrooms were spotless and well-maintained. I highly recommend this place, especially since the receptionist spoke excellent English, making everything even more convenient.
