The imaginative rebuilding/conversion of the building, along with others on the site, to an excellent hotel, with every comfort.

All good I stayed here before but I had never used the leisure facilities which made our stay a really good. Food, staff everything about the hotel was really good.

Loved the setting and the spacious rooms. Staff were very helpful, professional and friendly.
Windows rattled a bit (to be expected, I guess, in such an old building) but it was a windy night.
Room 26 was more catered for disabled would liked to have a bath i spoke to another guest he had the same had electric heaters no really working

The pool.and spa area was very noisy with children and teenagers making lots of noise and splashing and jumping in the pool 😕
Nice, spacious room with a view over the river. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Great location within the World Heritage site.
The food - both dinner and breakfast was OK but could have been better.
The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. We needed to leave early (before breakfast) but they still went to the effort to put something on for us. Wonderful hotel and staff and we will be back for a longer stay next time.
