Location, and they are really trying t make a good thing happen here loved the bar/restaurant food was great you have a good thing starting.
Room was a bit dated ,super lady that looked after it. Bit noisy just because it’s an old building stop the smoking at the top of stairs.
Breakfast was excellent, food nice and hot , staff was on the ball.
Took a long time for the shower to get hot, and a slow flow.
Such friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and the bar- restaurant was nicely decorated
The bathrooms were in need of decoration
We have stayed many times before and love the whole hotel. As we get older the 2nd stairs up to the rooms are getting difficult, so we may have to treat ourselves to a suite in future.
The bar area is quite noisy when busy and the new bar stools are very high.
Beautiful venue and rooms

Fantastic stay
The room was beautiful the bed was gorgeous plus the heating in the room made it warm and the bedding was amazing. We slept really well which was very much needed. The hotel was beautifully decorated having just recently been refurbished and the breakfast was lovely as it was cooked to order - the staff were also really helpful and friendly Isobel and Elliott are doing a great job 💋💋💋❤️❤️❤️
Nothing it was perfect
Breakfast good found room a bit warm
Lovely building. Friendly staff contacted me before arrival to arrange check-in. This is because there is major building work going on in reception and bar area. I had booked so I could have dinner there and that was disappointing. However there are other food options next very close by. Breakfast is ordered by text and brought to your room during the renovation. Isobel kindly came in early to bring me breakfast so I could leave early for my meeting.
Could have advised before the cancellation time had expired about building work. I wouldn’t have cancelled, staff adjusted for the public areas being unavailable and it was fine but I think earlier warning is courteous.
