Pros:

Loved the choice of food and abundance of fresh fruit. Great activities, and awesome hiking to top of mountain. Around the corner on beach by big rock was the best swimming (best at high tide). Offered markets for buying souvenirs. Rooms and beds were comfy and clean. Staff were friendly and accommodating, dinner area set up so it was friendly and easy to interact with other guests. Daughter enjoyed the shark snorkel.

Cons:

Not used to cold showers. Beaches had a lot of debris (plastic litter, sea glass, old tiles etc) on them compared to other Yasawa islands. Coral reef was ok, not as fabulous as other Yasawa islands. Resort could use a lick of paint.

Amazing and loved it to bits. Embrace the rustic charm and receive the warmth of community.
Pros:

The community, the staff, the cooking, the travellers, the amount of activities available.

Cons:

It’s rustic. Mattresses were very thin. Cold water showers, patchy connection, and bathrooms too old. I didn’t mind that - it’s part of the rustic village experience - but if I could change anything these are the things.

Great food, great snorkelling, lovely hosts, simple island life!
Pros:

The food was amazing! They provided good gluten free options and there was always fresh fruit, salads and vegetables along with plenty of meat options. Very fresh, healthy and hearty with very little processed food. Really impressed. We had a beach front bure which was in a great location. It's a VERY peaceful resort, no late night drinkers or partying, just very laid back and relaxed. The reef snorkelling trip to swim with the small reef sharks was very cool, and the school visit was another highlight. The snorkelling directly in front of the resort is also great! Lots of coral and fish to see without needing to go anywhere. We liked that it's not a glossy 'commercial' place... it is run by a few of the local villages, and it's nice to know that the money goes back into the local community. There's certainly maintenance that needs doing, and the facilities are simple, but for the price that is to be expected. Overall our family of 2 adults and 2 kids really enjoyed our 4 nights at Waya Lailai and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Cons:

The water pressure in the shower ( cold water only) was fine but very low. Better WiFi would have been handy, but it is on while the generator is running in the dining area... just very very slow

Amazing community that runs the retreat sourranded by nature
Pros:

We spent three nights here and had a wonderful time with the local community that runs the retreat.
Everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly, giving us a genuine appreciation of their culture and the relaxed spirit of "Fiji time." There are plenty of activities to enjoy—we especially loved swimming with reef sharks, snorkelling around the island, and hiking to the top of the mountain. The food was plentiful, fresh, and carefully prepared.

Cons:

The facilities could be upgraded slightly, while still preserving the authentic feel of the local traditions. To better live up to the name of an "Eco Retreat," I'd recommend improving waste management (especially in the beautiful natural surroundings) and increasing the use of renewable energy.

Recomendable auténtica experiencia Fijiana
Pros:

Personal super amable y dispuesto para brindar una buena experiencia.
Excelente comida, variada, abundante, bien condimentada.

Pros:

The staff are wonderful- friendly and helpful.
Food was good, served buffet style with a range of choices. Afternoon tea was always welcome.
Our original bure had a problem with no hot water, but the owner organised a different bure for us as quickly as possible. Like other locally owned resorts that we visited, this resort is trying hard to recover from the Covid lockdowns, and bures are a bit tired: nevertheless they are comfortable, which is the most important thing, and the owner is very focused on ensuring that guests are looked after.

Pros:

Really enjoyed my stay here. The scenery is unmatched and they had an amazing array of activities to choose from. Would definitely recommend the hike to the top of the island. The staff were very friendly, kind and welcoming. The dinners were delicious and were a great time to sit down and chat with others there, it felt like a family dinner. The Wayalailai family made my stay feel super special, will definitely be returning! Vinaka vakalevu

Absolutely beautiful
Pros:

The location is absolutely beautiful. Our favorite bures of our stays in the Yasawas. They are minimal, but everything you need to escape reality for a few days. The food was fantastic and always on time. We loved hanging out on the hammocks and listening to the staff play music/sing during meals and arrivals.

Cons:

Very limited water and few free activities - basically all excursions, even the hilltop hike, cost extra.

Merci Waya Lailai !
Pros:
