Beautiful location, beautiful views, lovely concept of the little ‘houses’. The sauna is absolutely great! We managed to get a tour through the taxi driver for the next day (so they could pick us up at the hotel instead of Porto Novo).
Bed is a bit small for someone >1.85m. Restaurant is quite expensive and the only way to get to the hotel is a €50 taxi from Porto Novo (but with beautiful views). :)
Hotel has a nice view over the sea, there is also a nice Finnish sauna and massage service (both require additional fee).
Overall the facilities were mid, not what you would expect from a hotel at this price point. Definitely not worth the money overall, the room has no AC, bathroom has questionable ventilation, no direct line with reception from the rooms so you have to walk out all the way to reception for the smallest inquiries, reception was more often not staffed when I needed it and there was no bell to ring to notify them. Then the FOOD, it was AWFUL. This hotel makes no use of vegetables whatsoever in their dishes, there is no flavoring other than salt and pepper in their dishes and frankly NONE of the dishes they have in their dinner menu had taste and you're limited in your options since you're stuck on top of a mountain (unless you have a car and don't mind horrific muddy inclines). Breakfast was equally underwhelming, with limited options, no vegetables in the omelette, old fruits, only pork options for on toast. Very very basic, but not the good kind. We stayed here for 5 nights which was too long, by the last day we were so glad to leave we didn't even have breakfast even if we had time for it. The staff really tries to make your stay agreable but this hotel clearly suffers from mismanagement and and hotel manager that just couldn't care less about its guests, so it's not really their fault. If you HAVE to book this hotel (we had no other options since we were late to book any accomodation), come prepared or else try to stay max 1 night (to enjoy the view and sauna). Would not recommend.
De locatie hoewel de weg erheen verschrikkelijk was, dit hadden wij niet verwacht van een in verhouding van Kaapverdië prijzig hotel.
De harde bedden
L'hôtel est excentré du village de Ribera grande. Il vous en coûtera 1000 escudos pour rejoindre le village. La route d'accès d'un peu plus d'1 km est très escarpée et accidentée. Aucun intérêt à pieds.
Concernant l'hôtel, les chambres sont spacieuses, très propres et confortables. Le petit dej est simple mais bon.
Nous avons mangé au restaurant de l'hôtel les 3 soirs de notre séjour n'ayant pas envie de redescendre au village. La qualité est bonne, cuisine maison, mais mériterait peut être davantage de cuisine locale.
L'exiguïté du lit niché entre 2 parois ; pas rédhibitoire, nous avons bien dormi (je suis très grand)
De locatie is prachtig. Mooi zwembad.
De matrassen zijn echt te oud en je ligt in een kuil. Die moeten echt vervangen worden

Due to the secluded location you are more or less forced to eat at the pricey restaurant, very basic menu with very little vegetarian options (the vegetarian pasta was not available for multiple days), no smoothies available, the pool-bar was not open.
