The location is stunning and the room spacious , beautiful decorated and extremely comfortable
We’ve stayed at St Mawes Hotel twice now and it’s become a bit of a favourite. The location is brilliant - right in the heart of the Harbour but still feels quiet and away from the busier tourist spots of other Cornish locations. The hotel itself is cosy and warm, and the breakfasts are genuinely delicious. We originally chose it for the value for money over Easter (which is rare in Cornwall), and the fact that parking is included is a real bonus in St Mawes. We love staying in St Mawes & enjoy the vibe and comfort the hotel offers.
Not a dislike as we are returning guests but general feedback - the staff are friendly and relaxed, which we liked, though service felt a little inconsistent at times - some newer team members may benefit from additional training.
In terms of the room, the overall decor is lovely, but there are a few areas that could do with a refresh. The bathroom in particular is starting to look a little tired, with some discoloured and missing grout, and a blind that’s seen better days. A few more practical touches, like extra hooks for jackets and bags and a couple more hangers in the wardrobe would also make the space more functional.
Clean, well furnished, lovely staff, nice continental breakfast. Fab location.
How clean it was and the bathroom was modern and a bit funky.
Location,ambiance,pleasant and helpful employees
No complaints
the room was set up for our dog and us which was a nice touch
We were told we had to sit downstairs as we had a dog but we were disappointed we had a different breakfast offering because of that. I think if a hotel says its dog friendly then that should not exclude you from the breakfast other residents have.
simple but nice - could do with fresh fruit
biscuits with tea in room and papers available upstairs in morning
Beautiful location
Excellent cooked to order breakfast
The breakfast was excellent.
The staff very friendly & helpful.
Our grandsons had a brilliant time because the atmosphere was so wonderful and the family room was perfect & fun.
breakfast was good, location easy
The junior staff were sweet and friendly.
The room was ridiculously small for a family room. The pictures and description misleading. Also, the kitchen was right below the window so it stank of food. Particularly bacon in the morning.
It really is a restaurant with rooms. Rather than a proper hotel, as it describes itself as being. You have to go to the bar to talk to staff. There is a reception but never someone there.
Tolle Lage und sehr schönes Zimmer. Der Frühstücksraum ist auch sehr gemütlich mit Meeresblick.
The staff, location and location were all excellent, as was the food.
Our one grumble was that our room, although beautiful was opposite the kitchen extractor fan, which was left on all night. Despite being assured that it would be switched off at the end of the shift ....it wasn't. It was quite noisy. I did write but heard nothing.
Allting, personalen, restaurangen, baren, frukosten, allt är riktigt bra!
Jag tyckte allt var riktigt bra, om jag måste anmärka på någonting så är det priset, jag är en snåljåp!
