Very quirky and interesting place with a fantastic location overlooking the sea. Lovely owners and brilliant breakfasts.
Nothing
This hotel has the best view of the beach and sea. The rooms are very tastefully and artistically done. The cooked Breakfast was excellent! The bus stops, and the railway station is very accessible within 5 minutes' walk. Overall, a wonderful and memorable stay
Nothing to write about.
Excellent location, excellent breakfast and lovely staff (and dog). The Lawrence of Arabia memorabilia and information was fascinating. There is a great lounge packed with his stuff!
Bed in room 8 was big and superbly comfortable. The view was stunning.
Breakfast was massive and beautifully cooked, and all the options were named after aspects of the life of T.E Lawrence. I had an option based around steamed tomatoes, bacon and fried bread, without an egg in sight. Superb.
The decor of the building, while not yet complete, was striking. Each room was modelled on one aspect of T.E Lawrence's life, and the historical depth was astounding. The first floor lounge was enormous, and packed with Lawrence memorabilia.
It's an adults-only hotel, with very good reason. The thought of all that effort being wrecked by hordes of children is unthinkable.
The bathroom to room 8 is a bit tight - no doubt due to achitectural constraints. So no bath, and just a small shower. But the shower worked just fine, once the hot water had made its way up there. It's more of a pity rather than a criticism.
The location was perfect. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I love my stay here
Location, the breakfast the decorations
Amazing place
the breakfast was lovely
The hosts were warm and friendly and could not do more for you. They were very accommodating with our late arrival. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was top notch. Location perfect right on the seafront. We were staying for the weymouth half marathon and the owners were so kind to let us check out after we had finished so we could come back and change and collect our things. Definitely would stay again.
Nothing
Not a lot.
Proprietors were miserable. Nearly had my breakfast down me one morning as he could not be bothered to put tray on table nearby to pass breakfast . Put the tray nearly above my head to reach for breakfast. And they had a go at my husband for putting a wet towel to change in the shower. Where else are you meant to put them.
The location.
DO NOT STAY HERE. The owner was rude and abusive. The bed was uncomfortable. No curtain on the window, shower covered in limescale. Single glazed window so you hear all noise from outside. You only get shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper and coffee on the first day. When I asked about these, I got shouted at and was told that all the other guest bring their own. The plumbing in the bathroom, I have never seen anything like it. Every time we use it, it sounds like someone drilling into the wall and when the guests use the bathroom next door, we couldn't flush the toilet or wash our hands at night because of how loud it was. We were even asked to take our rubbish out and put it in the public bin across the road and you are not allowed to eat anything in your room. They say its a hotel but this isn't a hotel, its a B&B. if you call them they say its not a 24 hour service. If you're unlucky to stay here and you need to speak with them. DO NOT ask or complain about anything, if you do they will make your stay a living hell. Just suffer in silence or leave. I made the mistake and spoke with them about the issues the first morning and both husband and wife made our stay a nightmare. They are very twisted and will twist everything you say. There is lots more to say but I will finish here.
Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent.
Superb home cooked breakfast, great location, very interesting and artistic hotel. Perfect for anyone who wants to experience the art deco style with the added bonus of the presence of T.E Lawrence in the archival memorabilia and style.
The most lovely owner and her son are running The Lawrence. A beautiful Hotel literally 10 yards away from the sea. Delicious breakfast and comfortable room (no. 8 with sea view) including a cosy lounge at the first floor.
Everything was just splendid!
I loved my stay in this friendly family run hotel
It was warm and cosy it just had a nice atmosphere and feel to it.
I also loved the decor with all the interesting furniture and items related to Lawrence of Arabia.
Breakfast was delicious and hot, and a great choice of cereal jams juice and the all nicely presented
I can't wait to go back to beautiful Weymouth and I will be staying there again.
Car parking is at the end of the road
It's not a long walk
You can pull up at the side of the hotel to unload so really wasn't a problem
The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel overlooks the sea and is in a brilliant location with on road or public car parking close by. The information concerning Laurence of Arabia and his family/career was fascinating and made the hotel unique.
Everything. breakfast verry good best I have had at any hotel we have ever stayed at
From door shut at 12 at night if you stayed out after that time you had to ring bell which your did not like to do. front door keys would be good idea and you can stay out if you wanted to and not disturb anyone
The location was perfect and the breakfast was lovely. The hosts were really nice
