Quirky hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good location
No lift. Steep stairs. Not suitable for disabled, elderly and infirm
The location of the hotel is fantastic. The area is just beautiful, and the village is very quaint. The hotel is very central, and has lovely sea views. The beach is only a few minutes walk away.
We travelled with our dog, who was welcomed everywhere, including the restaurants. Staff were sure to make a fuss over all the dogs staying there.
Our room was nice, it clearly had been refurbished not long ago. And the food in The Ancient Mariner pub was delicious! The fresh Cornish mussels are highly recommended.
The choice on the breakfast buffet was a little disappointing. Not sure if this is because we visited during off-peak season, but I was expecting more. Also, the cooked breakfast choices were okay, but not more than that.
Breakfast , room and location all good
A chair in the room would have been useful
A lovely boutique style hotel! Friendly staff on check in and immaculately clean rooms. Great location too! There are a few parking spaces which you have to pay for (£15) but out of season there is plenty of parking around outside. Breakfast room was lovely as was the decor throughout. The restaurants next door attached to the hotel had lovely food. Would definitely come back and stay again.
Staff, location and interior in public areas.
Good allround

The room was stunning and so comfortable and clean. The view was amazing as right next to the sea. Breakfast was all freshly cooked and really good. Staff go above and beyond. Highly recommend and we will definitely stay again.
Nothing at all
Location perfect. We ate in the pub attached to the hotel food was excellent.
Parking a bit difficult .Spaces near the hotel at times hard to find.
Pillows need renewing I think they were past their best.
Places to put out various toiletries in the en suite were extremely limited
Recent refurb. Lovely decor in keeping with the building. Good food in both The Elephant in the Room restaurant and Ancient Mariner bar. Perfect location. Dog friendly too!
Nothing, all good
It was right on the seafront and close to everything
The double bed was a small double so found it hard to sleep with my partner who’s over 6ft and the dog- could do with some new pillows as well as they were very lumpy.
Think it’s a lot what they charge for a dog a night as well
Excellent Location close to the harbour. Friendly and welcoming staff. Stylishly decorated room, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, all very clean. Super breakfasts. We enjoyed our stay very much and would certainly visit again.
Location and facilities
Nothing really although breakfast not as varied as before
The staff were super friendly it was comfortable and breakfasts lovely.
Stayed for 2 nights and the room not cleaned during my stay- bathroom/ dirty cups not cleared
