Excellent manager
Location and room specs
Initially we thought we were a little too far away from town, but The Cubes turned out to be our favourite stay in SL. The staff are a true team. The rooms are spacious an well equipped with lovely valley views. The food… a true stand out.
The place was clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast and a beautiful view.
Most importantly, Primal and the staff were amazing, they took care of everything and were incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay.

Lovely property just outside the town which is perfect for peace and quiet away from the hustle, bustle and back packers. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. The highlight of our trip was the delicious beef curry served in their restaurant, best curry we have had in Sri Lanka and we’ve had a lot of fabulous food!

Lovely host , very clean rooms and quiet location
Cube’s Ella was even better than the images show. The rooms were extremely clean, spacious, and very modern, with great facilities provided throughout the stay. The room size was impressively large and the views were also really good, which made the experience even better.
The management team were excellent, and Richard was especially very helpful and accommodating. The location is also ideal, around a 10-minute drive from Ella city, so you’re close to everything you need, but still far enough to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, it was a really great experience and I would highly recommend staying here.

La chambre était superbe, avec un balcon vue sur la jungle.
Le personnel était aux petits soins, et mention spéciale à l’ami du propriétaire qui était vraiment adorable et à notre serveur durant le séjour .
L’hôtel est facilement accessible du centre ville, soit à pied environ 30mn soit en tuk tuk pour 5mn.
Concernant la restauration, les portions étaient très importantes (peut être même trop) et parfois un peu trop épicées..!

One of our favourite places on our recent trip around Sri Lanka
We traveled to Sri Lanka for 2 weeks as a couple from Germany in February 2026. We stayed in 7 different hotels. I'll only remark on the positive and negative things. Otherwise expect a hotel matching the category and price:
Positive:
- the host was very welcoming, the room was nice (we did not stay in one of the containers but on the first floor regular room); the breakfast and some of the foods for dinner were really amazing, but you have to bring some time for dinner
Negative:
- our room and one other room had AC issues but they fixed it while we were out
Tour d’abord, nous avons bénéficié d’un accueil absolument remarquable. Le manager est particulièrement attentif au bien être de ses invités. La chambre est spacieuse, propre, bien équipée. La cuisine proposée par l’hôtel (dîner et petit déjeuner) est particulièrement délicieuse. Nous recommandons d’y goûter ! Les équipes sont aux petits soins pour vous assurer l’expérience la plus agréable possible. L’hôtel est bien placé, à quelques minutes en tuk tuk de la rue principale d’Ella (point de départ de toutes les excursions). Le rapport qualité prix est exceptionnel, on ne peut que recommander cet établissement.
L’expérience a été quasiment parfaite, le seul point d’amélioration éventuel serait l’odeur des canalisations dans la salle de bain. (Peut être était-ce seulement passager).
