The room was looking very tired
Food was nice although cheeky charging upgrades for breakfast £5 for an extra sausage and bacon is a bit steep
Beds and towels were fresh. But the bathroom was not clean, marks on the floor and shower etc, bottom of the toilet where the water is was completely brown
Lovely designed room, comfy and different .staff friendly and helpful
Beautiful property, great pub and service .
I could hear the man next door snoring all night !
Great location and polite, friendly staff. Comfortable night’s stay.
The back stairs to the upstairs rooms smelt a bit stale.
On site parking, food we had was good, staff were friendly, character building
House keeping could be better, dust on surfaces, blocked sink in room, could benifit with a small fridge in room
The place is large, welcoming and the rooms quirky and fun
The walls between rooms are paper thin - and was woken in the night by neighbours having fun. Should be better privacy. No hairdryer or fridge in the room - furniture in room falling apart - not the bed! Lights not working - generally it's scruffy.
Hated the 'supplement' for pre-paid breakfast. - to get a real full English you need to pay an extra £5 which is silly. Served half measures of juice.
Silly things like toilet roll was meagerly supplied, the lighting in the room was naff with spotlights dirty and obscured.
It feels like a place loved about 10 years ago and now it's just being nudged along without investment.
It's not that it's bad, it's that it could be epic.
Friendly and helpful staff
Basin tap dripping
Ground floor, accessible for my father, friendly staff, very comfortable beds
The Bed was extremely comfortable.
The walls are paper thin. We stayed in room 3. The neighbours had a good night!!! Got to sleep at 3am then awake again by staff setting up downstairs for breakfast.
Room was lovely, really comfortable bed.
Pub downstairs is great and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming.
Very small car park.
Free parking
Expensive food and drinks
Toilet seat in my room hanging off
Windows not fully operational
Pleasant quiet tree lined street location near park. Friendly staff. Although we arrived just before closing time in the evening for the Restaurant kitchen ( 8pm) the staff kindly requested the chef to stay on and provide an evening meal for us. This was much appreciated. The bedroom was spacious.
The bedroom contained a freestanding bath with handheld shower attachment which made quite a feature in the room with a handbasin wall mounted nearby. The toilet was located in a tiny alcove with a glass wall partition and door, a feature that I did not find attractive. However, at least the extractor fan worked. It often doesn’t in hotels. The overall decor is quirky and unusual with old semi stripped floorboards and not very clean looking carpets. The stairs to the second floor were very scruffy and paint chipped.
At diner the bavette steak required a great deal of chewingl!
The room included free standing bath which provided a nice feature to the room and the breakfast was good quality.
Parking space was a bit limited, however there was free on street parking available overnight.
Stylish (quirky?) room. Good range of drinks in the bar.
Restaurant service was casual. A sign from the road to the parking would have been useful, to avoid a tour round the block.
